Jim Dent, author of the New York Times bestselling The Junction Boys, returns with his most powerful story of human courage and determination.

More than a century ago, a school was constructed in Fort Worth, Texas, for the purpose of housing and educating the orphans of Texas Freemasons. It was a humble project that for years existed quietly on a hillside east of town. Life at the Masonic Home was about to change, though, with the arrival of a lean, bespectacled coach by the name of Rusty Russell. Here was a man who could bring rain in the midst of a drought. Here was a man who, in virtually no time at all, brought the orphans' story into the homes of millions of Americans.
In the 1930s and 1940s, there was nothing bigger in Texas high school football than the Masonic Home Mighty Mites--a group of orphans bound together by hardship and death. These youngsters, in spite of being outweighed by at least thirty pounds per man, were the toughest football team around. They began with nothing--not even a football--yet in a few years were playing for the state championship on the highest level of Texas football. This is a winning tribute to a courageous band of underdogs from a time when America desperately needed fresh hope and big dreams.
The Mighty Mites remain a notable moment in the long history of American sports. Just as significant is the depth of the inspirational message. This is a profound lesson in fighting back and clinging to faith. The real winners in Texas high school football were not the kids from the biggest schools, or the ones wearing the most expensive uniforms. They were the scrawny kids from a tiny orphanage who wore scarred helmets and faded jerseys that did not match, kids coached by a devoted man who lived on peanuts and drove them around in a smoke-belching old truck.
In writing a story of unforgettable characters and great football, Jim Dent has come forward to reclaim his place as one of the top sports authors in America today.
A remarkable and inspirational story of an orphanage and the man who created one of the greatest football teams Texas has ever known . . . this is their story--the original Friday Night Lights.

This just might be the best sports book ever written. Jim Dent has crafted a story that will go down as one of the most artistic, one of the most unforgettable, and one of the most inspirational ever. Twelve Mighty Orphans will challenge Hoosiers as the feel-good sports story of our lifetime. Naturally, being from Texas, I am biased. Hooray for the Mighty Mites.''
--Verne Lundquist, CBS Sports

Coach Rusty Russell and the Mighty Mites will steal your heart as they overcome every obstacle imaginable to become a respected football team. Take an orphanage, the Depression, and mix it with Texas high school football, and Jim Dent has authored another winner, this one about the ultimate underdog.''
--Brent Musburger, ABC Sports/ESPN

No state has a roll call of legendary high school football stories like we do in Texas, and, admittedly, some of those stories have been 'expanded' over the years when it comes to the truth. But let Jim Dent tell you about the Mighty Mites of Masonic Home, the pride of Fort Worth in the dark days of the Depression. Read this book. You will think it's fiction. You will think it's a Hollywood script. But Twelve Mighty Orphans is the truth, and nothing but. It is powerful stuff. Some eighty years later, the Mighty Mites' story remains so sacred, not even a Texan would dare tamper with these facts. And Jim Dent tells it like it was.

Good OEM replacement for Honda Pilot
Size: 7.5" x 8.7" x 1.4"
Simple cabin filter for my wife’s Honda Pilot. It fits well in the cabin air filter drawer. This is of similar quality to the original Honda one; just cheaper. I’ve bought this for my Subaru and have been happy with it as well.

Works great!
Size: 7.5" x 8.7" x 1.4"
This is a great filter for allergies and a huge help during allergy season. It traps fine dust and pollen much better than the standard paper filters you get from the dealership, resulting in noticeably cleaner air inside the cabin. The construction feels very solid, and it fit perfectly right into the housing without any issues. If you are looking for true HEPA filtration in your vehicle, this is definitely worth the upgrade!

Saved over $60 and felt like a DIY hero!
Size: 7.5" x 8.7" x 1.4"
I bought the BOSCH 6092C HEPA Cabin Air Filter after a tire/service center quoted $76 to do the same job I did in no time. Instead, I watched a quick YouTube video, grabbed a screwdriver, and had it swapped out in under 5 minutes—no sweat, no special tools. The filter itself is high quality, fits perfectly, and noticeably improved the air quality in my car. No weird smells, and the airflow feels cleaner and stronger. Honestly, it’s one of the easiest upgrades I’ve ever done. If you’re even slightly handy (or just tired of paying for basic service), this is a no-brainer. Great product, easy install, and a satisfying win for anyone who likes saving money and doing things themselves.

Great aftermarket filter
Size: 7.5" x 8.7" x 1.4"
Performance will be TBD but after a test air does smell a bit cleaner. It Fits a 2018 Subaru Impreza just like the OEM does. Material is significantly better as well. The only thing that will cause confusion is the arrow designation many are used to. The OEM will state which way the filter is to be oriented (up), and this aftermarket version designates which way airflow goes which is usually in the direction of the blower or engine bay (down). Keep that in mind. Otherwise, it’s so easy and such a good peace of mind maintenance item everyone should do and NEVER pay the dealer.

Works ok, but not perfect. Manage expectations.
Size: 7.5" x 8.7" x 1.4"
My goal was to reduce or eliminate bad particulate odors coming in from outside while driving, as drive through areas with high particulate pollution. Sure, recirc mode exists, but then cars fill up with CO2 quickly, and high concentrations of CO2 makes you drowsy and have slow reaction times, etc. So I looked into better cabin air filters. My Subaru has an easy-to-access cabin air filter. I learned how to properly change it via online videos, because the dealership wants over $50 just to change the filter, and it only takes a few minutes! The OEM filter I took out is not that good, and only meant for larger particulates, to protect the HVAC system. It reminded me of the cheaper (but not cheapest) furnace air handler filters. Placing this new filter in and testing it, it does block more airflow, which is to be expected from a finer filter. My car's blower has 7 running speeds (plus off), and I needed to turn it up one notch higher to get about the same airflow, versus the previous filter. The filter seems to work, somewhat. If behind a diesel truck, I still smell it. Same with cigarette smoke from a car in front. It doesn't block vape vapors at all, it seems. However, maybe I was expecting too much. The infographic for this filter clearly shows the size of particulate it can handle, which I appreciate very much. Diesel exhaust is a very fine particulate, smaller than this filter can filter. I also wonder if outside air is getting around the filter in the filter housing, since it just slides in, like a furnace air handler filter. It has a good fit though, in my car at least. What I need is an even finer filter, but that would likely block a lot more airflow. There are various manufacturers of high-end cabin air filters, but I don't know if they match or exceed the quality of this one.
