The Seiko Prospex 1968 Diver's Modern Re-Interpretation GMT SBEJ009 (globally distributed under the international reference SPB381J1) is a highly advanced, premium mechanical multi-time zone tool watch belonging to Prospex's elite Sea Collection. Paying design homage to the foundational structural geometry of Seiko’s legendary 1968 hi-beat one-piece mechanical saturation diver, this reference stands as a major technical milestone by debuting the brand's very first mechanical GMT movement integrated within a professional dive platform. The watch is engineered within a 42.0 mm stainless steel case protected by Seiko’s proprietary super-hard scratch-resistant coating. To maximize wearing ergonomics, the chassis is sculpted with a low centre of gravity and matched with short-pitch links across its solid oyster bracelet layout, ensuring it sits perfectly balanced, flush, and steady against the skin. The primary visual anchor is its stunning gloss marine green dial face, framed beautifully by a matching unidirectional countdown bezel housing a highly durable, scratch-resistant green ceramic insert ring. Powering this historical crossover machine is the high-spec, in-house Calibre 6R54 mechanical automatic movement, beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour and packing a substantial 72-hour power reserve that continues ticking reliably even over a three-day weekend. The multi-time zone layout features standard local pointers alongside a prominent, high-contrast golden independent GMT hand that tracks a secondary time zone against a 24-hour scale printed cleanly along the dial perimeter inner flange ring. True to professional saturation metrics, the dial utilizes deep, applied geometric index plots generously filled with high-intensity LumiBrite compounds to ensure pristine, rapid legibility in murky underwater depths or low-light cockpits. Built to fully comply with strict ISO diving safety criteria, the architecture packs a tactical offset screw-down crown at 4 o'clock, a clean date window shifted to the 4.5 position to preserve full luminous plots, a curved scratch-proof sapphire crystal, and an absolute 200-meter diver's water resistance rating, bridging high-end international travel tracking with serious underwater execution.

A Comprehensive Pocket Guide to Christian Living
Format: Paperback
Looking for a book on discipleship? Not sure what discipleship is, or how it relates to Christian living? Want to learn more about how God grows us and wants us to grow? May I recommend Mapping Discipleship, a 2025 release from Faith Publications by Charlie Carter, co-host of The Thinklings Podcast (my favorite podcast). I pre-ordered my copy and read it shortly after its (early 👏) arrival. I ended up using it as my devotions, taking extra time to read the suggested passages and think through the reflection questions. Some pros of this book are -its small, short size: the chapters themselves are short, making the book more of a "pocket guide" than an intimidating, extensive treatise. -its catechism style: each chapter's title is a question that the chapter itself answers with Scripture, personal examples, illustrations and analogies, and practical application. Each chapter builds on the next, so start at the beginning. -its organization: the division of chapters into 3 parts (recognition, renewal, and results -- not exact) makes for a logical progression easy to follow and to implement. -its depth: though small, Mapping Discipleship packs a big punch in the way it lays out and digs into foundational truths of Christian living and how we grow. Deep thoughts and rich language. Chew slowly. Mapping Discipleship's only con (for me) is also its pro: its length. A few places I would have loved more fleshed-out discussion and maybe some additional resources. I'd love to share some of the quotes that impacted me, but I already lent my copy out to a friend. 😅 Just get your own copy -- you will be challenged and blessed!
