Bettas are living animals and continue to develop over time.
- Colour and pattern may naturally evolve
- Changes are more noticeable in younger fish (3–6 months)
- Marble, koi, grizzle, and fancy bettas often change appearance
- The older the photo date, the more visible change may occur
⚠️ What Stays Consistent vs What May Change
✔️ Typically Remains Consistent
- Fish identity (same individual fish)
- Fin type and body structure
- Size category and age range
- Personality and behaviour traits
🔄 May Naturally Change Over Time
- Colour intensity
- Marble pattern distribution
- Contrast and markings
- Patch size or colour spread
Minor visual changes are considered a normal part of keeping live bettas and are not defects.
