NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER - Perfect for fans of The Crown, this magisterial biography of Queen Elizabeth II is a close-up view of the woman we've known only from a distance--and a captivating window into the last great monarchy.

From the moment of her ascension to the throne in 1952 at the age of twenty-five, Queen Elizabeth II has been the object of unparalleled scrutiny. But through the fog of glamour and gossip, how well do we really know the world's most famous monarch? Drawing on numerous interviews and never-before-revealed documents, acclaimed biographer Sally Bedell Smith pulls back the curtain to show in intimate detail the public and private lives of Queen Elizabeth II, who has led her country and Commonwealth through the wars and upheavals of the last sixty years with unparalleled composure, intelligence, and grace.

In Elizabeth the Queen, we meet the young girl who suddenly becomes "heiress presumptive" when her uncle abdicates the throne. We meet the thirteen-year-old Lilibet as she falls in love with a young navy cadet named Philip and becomes determined to marry him, even though her parents prefer wealthier English aristocrats. We see the teenage Lilibet repairing army trucks during World War II and standing with Winston Churchill on the balcony of Buckingham Palace on V-E Day. We see the young Queen struggling to balance the demands of her job with her role as the mother of two young children. Sally Bedell Smith brings us inside the palace doors and into the Queen's daily routines--the "red boxes" of documents she reviews each day, the weekly meetings she has had with twelve prime ministers, her physically demanding tours abroad, and the constant scrutiny of the press--as well as her personal relationships: with Prince Philip, her husband of sixty-four years and the love of her life; her children and their often-disastrous marriages; her grandchildren and friends.

Praise for Elizabeth the Queen

"An excellent, all-embracing new biography."--The New York Times

" An] imposing, yet nimbly written, biography that] dwarfs the field . . . a most satisfying and enjoyable read, one to be savored at length."--Minneapolis Star Tribune

"Fascinating . . . After sixty years on the throne, the monarch of Britain is better known for her poker face than for sly wit or easy charm. Yet in biographer Sally Bedell Smith's Elizabeth the Queen, Her Majesty sparkles with both."--More

" A] smart and satisfying book."--Los Angeles Times

One of my favorite golf shirts
Color: Lightblue Four Dots, Size: Large
I ordered this golf shirt and it's becoming one of my favorites. I'm a medium build 6'3", 42" chest and the large fits me very well with plenty of room for movement but a nice trim look. The lightweight material is soft and breathable, with a small bit of stretch. It's easy to care for with machine wash and dry, and comes out wrinkle-free. This shirt is very well made and is a good value - I highly recommend it.

Lightweight, Breathable Polo Perfect for Hot Weather Gol
Color: Blue/White Square, Size: Medium, Color: Blue/White Square, Size: Medium
For reference, I’m 5'10" and 170 lbs and ordered a size Medium, which fits true to size. The shirt is probably designed with tucking in mind, as it runs a little longer than some casual polos. That said, it still looks perfectly fine worn untucked if that’s your preference. The mesh material is lightweight and very breathable, which makes it ideal for hot Southern California golf days. It does a great job keeping you cool even when you’re out on the course for several hours. Another thing I like is the amount of stretch in the fabric. It allows plenty of freedom during the golf swing without feeling tight or restrictive, while still maintaining a clean fit that doesn’t look baggy. The pattern is nicely done, with subtle colors that look good without being overly loud. It has just enough style to stand out a bit without feeling flashy. The collar holds its shape well, which helps the shirt look a little more polished. It’s stiff enough to stay looking sharp and it washes well without losing its structure. Overall, this is a comfortable, lightweight polo that performs well in warm weather and looks good on and off the course. A solid choice if you’re looking for a breathable golf shirt with a good fit and plenty of stretch.

Excellent Suit for the Money. Great, rich details.
Size: X-Large, Color: Black
This is a stunning piece of clothing. The material for the vests and pants are so luxurious and make it look like you spent a lot of money. Great versatility and thick material of great quality. The material is made of a rich fabric that feels subtle and gentle, but with the patterns showing well. It fits well and allows for movement. Whether you are looking for a wedding suit, or something to wear to a gala or bow-tie event, this is it.

Buy the suit. Be sure to measure!
Size: Large, Color: Red, Size: Large, Color: Red
Suit looks better than the photo in person. The suit is also made well. Great fabric and pattern! My son is 6'1 and weighs around 135-140 pounds. I ordered a size large for him so the pants would be long enough. The pants were a little big but it was nothing a belt could not fix. The jacket and vest fit well too. The item also arrived on time. ***Suit runs small BUT if you take out time to do the measurements you will get the correct size.***
