. "Big, confident pop songs that fizz with melody" 4 stars. Music OMH // "Admirers of the Magnetic Fields, Pet Shop Boys and the Postal Service ought to find I Blame Society a treasure trove." 8/10 Press Association // Queer New York duo the Ballet marry the DIY ethos of the Hidden Cameras with the wry poeticism of the Magnetic Fields and the romantic pop of Jens Lekman, to create literate, infectious pop gems. Formed in 2005 by Greg Goldberg and Craig Willse, the Ballet self-released two previous albums: Mattachine! (2006) and Bear Life (2009). These caught the attention of Fortuna Pop!, which released their third album, I Blame Society, in 2013. The Ballet has been joined by a few other musicians along the way including Ginger Brooks Takahashi and Michael O'Neill, who left in 2007 to join JD Sampson in MEN, as well as guest appearances on previous albums from Linton from The Aislers Set, Ramesh from Voxtrot, Scott Matthew, and Kaki King. In addition to citing Stephin Merritt as an influence, Goldberg, who writes and home records all of the band's songs, draws from an array of pop artists and periods, from 60's bubblegum to 80's synthpop and 90's indiepop, fusing these in sophisticated and novel ways that reward repeat listening. The Ballet's new album, Matchy Matchy, is a return to the upbeat tenor of the band's first two albums. While inspired by Goldberg's experience navigating an open relationship with his boyfriend of 14 years, Matchy Matchy is not straightforwardly autobiographical; Goldberg writes from his experience, while also fantasizing about the perspective of his objects of desire, leaving ambiguous which is which. He is generally less melancholic than on I Blame Society, and fans will notice a return to earlier themes ("Looking" tackles Grindr, as "Personal" did Gaydar in 2006). Goldberg is not shy to write songs with explicitly queer subjects ("But I'm a Top," "Messing Around," "First Time in a Gay Bar"), while also taking on more universal longings, pleasures, and frustrations ("Jersey," "Love Letter," "Cry Baby"). As the album's title suggests, Matchy Matchy is also a meditation on sameness, both in it's musical material (think limited chords in major keys, repeated phrases and constructions, and citations of Goldberg's influences) and in it's lyrical exploration of queer relationships and encounters. The album reclaims the insult of "matchy matchy," finding value in repetition and doubling, both within the album and across the Ballet's discographyA1) Looking A2) Jersey A3) But I'm a Top A4) I've Been Wondering A5) Love Letter A6) Your Boyfriend B1) 20 B2) Messing Around B3) Cry Baby B4) First Time in a Gay Bar B5) Am I Dreaming B6) You're Mine

Excellent blazer!
Size: X-Large, Color: Dark Grey
Very nice fabric. Comfortable throughout chest arms and waist. Very nice shade of grey that goes with everything! Fit was perfect. It claims to be washable but I prefer dry cleaning. All Stitching is hidden and it is fully lined. I wear blazers daily for work and this one is great especially for the price.

Perfect fit for a medium build 5ft 6
Size: Medium, Color: Light Grey
I am happy with this grey color Blazer. The fit is spot on- I am 5’6” medium build, and it fits comfortably without feeling too tight or too loose. The material feels high quality and has a nice weight into it. Making it look more premium than expected. It’s also very comfortable to wear for extended periods, whether for work or going out. Overall great value and a solid addition to my wardrobe. Would definitely recommend!

Great jacket!
Size: 4X-Large, Color: Dark Blue
Nice jacket for warmer weather, very comfortable, fit me well. I'm a big guy and wear a 54 regular in tailored sport coats. The 4XL fit nearly identical to a 54 regular. Adds some class to a nice outfit without making it formal, which is exactly what I was looking for.

Comfortable & Right Fit
Size: X-Large, Color: Light Grey, Size: X-Large, Color: Light Grey
Light Grey, XL *Item returned before use due to color change* Quality every day blazer. Good material didn't feel cheap or come with lose threads. When buttoned the blazer laid flat, I had room in chest and stomach but didn't seem baggy. Shoulders fit across without pinching or buckling around pads. Arm length didn't hang past wrist when arms were at my side and also didn't pull too high when raising. My measurements: More of a solid, muscular build but still very average. 6' 215# Chest 44" (circumference) Shoulders 20" (length taken from back) Waist: 38" (circumference) Arms: 26" (length taken down outside of arm)
