NAMED A BEST BOOK OF 2018 BY THE FINANCIAL TIMES

A groundbreaking take on how complexity causes failure in all kinds of modern systems--from social media to air travel--this practical and entertaining book reveals how we can prevent meltdowns in business and life

"Endlessly fascinating, brimming with insight, and more fun than a book about failure has any right to be, Meltdown will transform how you think about the systems that govern our lives. This is a wonderful book."--Charles Duhigg, author of The Power of Habit and Smarter Faster Better

A crash on the Washington, D.C. metro system. An accidental overdose in a state-of-the-art hospital. An overcooked holiday meal. Surprising new research shows that all these events--and the myriad failures that dominate headlines every day--share similar causes. By understanding what lies behind these failures, we can design better systems, make our teams more productive, and transform how we make decisions at work and at home.

Weaving together cutting-edge social science with riveting stories that take us from the frontlines of the Volkswagen scandal to backstage at the Oscars, and from deep beneath the Gulf of Mexico to the top of Mount Everest, Chris Clearfield and Andr s Tilcsik explain how the increasing complexity of our systems creates conditions ripe for failure and why our brains and teams can't keep up--with an emphasis on practical solutions. It's an eye-opening, empowering, and entirely original book--one that will change the way you see our complex world and your own place in it.

I can use my remote again
Style: 1 to 1 IR Repeater
I added a center channel speaker, and it was partially blocking the remote sensor. This solution works like a charm and has an easy setup. One end points towards the existing IR, and the other end goes where you are going to point the remote to. The only suggestion is to include a USB connector with the product, so I don't need to find one.

Very good signal repeater
Style: 1 to 1 IR Repeater
Fantastic product! I have a center channel for my surround sound that blocks the infrared sensor on my Sony Bravia TV that never works. I always have to get up to turn the TV on or off as well as other functions. So I purchased this product and it worked like a charm. Very simple to install, took less than 5 minutes . I didn’t have no compatibility issues. It was plugged play . Simply stick on the transmitting sensor by the receiving sensor on the TV and then the extended sensor for receiving from your remote control put where you would like it, lastly plug in the USB plug into any 5V power block and you’re done. Now I have no issues with range with controlling my TV, which is great.!👏🏼. Definitely a good product. I would highly recommend…

Easy to Set up
Style: 1 to 1 IR Repeater
Works great. Have Sonos playbar mounted behind TV and it does not support eARC, only IR, for use with AppleTV remote. This solved problem.
