All diaphragms endure a four-stage, heat-treating process for unparalleled performance. ACT pressure plates have precision cover stampings to provide rigidity and consistency. ACT's 4-pad spring-centered race disc features a spring-center construction to properly damp torsional vibrations for quieter operation and resist failure even under harsh conditions. ACT spring retainers utilize wraparound spring windows and thicker retainer stampings to provide spring support, reduce stress concentrations, and increase strength and reliability. With the 4-pad spring-centered race disc, engagement is harsher, but shifting is faster. ACT's 4-pad spring-centered race disc is well-suited for smaller disc sizes in smaller engines. Monoloc is a one-piece, direct replacement or upgrade to the standard, two-piece wedge collar and wire ring featured in pull-type clutches. The spring tension of the segmented retaining ring is carefully calculated and tested for optimal performance. It provides uniform loading on the bearing and pressure plate to assure proper alignment, regardless of driver influence or vehicle modifications. My son destroys shoes, same thing happened here.

For some reason my son started doing the duck walk at school and while performing this little trick for his classmates he ripped the rubber that wraps over top the toe. Now, instead of being glued up and into place, its basically sagging down. Thankfully that's the only thing that's gone wrong with these and honestly this sort of wear and tear is not typical. What I would say is that if your child is rough on shoes, I would pass on these. They are very nice, very light weight and are great for school. However, due to the design, they might not best good for some kids.
In terms of sizing and comfort, my son wears a 5 and these fit him very well. He has wide feet like his dad, and these don't bother him at all. He's says they're very comfortable and does enjoy wearing them.
