In 2013, when Daniel O'Sullivan was invited to curate the sixth installment of Ravenna, Italy's Transmissions festival, his first request was for Charlemagne Palestine, the shamanic world-maker, sacred toy emissary, and one-time student of Pandit Pran Nath associated with the New York '60s minimalist scene and known primarily for extended performances with Bösendorfer piano, cathedral organs, and falsetto voice. After Transmissions O'Sullivan invited Palestine to play a two-night residency at London's Cafe OTO, the second night of which was a collaboration with Grumbling Fur, the duo of O'Sullivan and Alexander Tucker. The performance at OTO was a ritualistic union of crystalware, processed strings, live tape manipulations, Indian harmonium, shimmering piano clusters, bleating cattle, a Japanese orgy, disembodied vocal harmony, and rousing choruses often led by sing-a-ma-jigs (singing Fisher-Price toys affectionately referred to as "the singing assholes"). A continuous flow of overtones and plainchant sieved through mutant simulations of processed pulses, orbiting strings, and heliotropic vocal mantras. Following 2013's Glynnaestra and 2014's Preternaturals, both of which the Wire listed in it's top avant rock albums of their respective years, this is the first incarnation of the Grumbling Fur alter-ego Time Machine Orchestra, an alias put together to explore extended drone works, improvisation, and automatic composition. Recorded at Cafe OTO and Fur Island and assembled by Grumbling Fur. LP pressed in an edition of 500 copies.

A Skin Barrier Savior for Irritated, Pore-Prone Skin

This cream has honestly become one of my skincare essentials. My skin gets easily irritated and reactive, and this balm calms everything down almost overnight. It really helps reduce redness, dryness, and that tight uncomfortable feeling after using active products. I also noticed my skin looks smoother and healthier overall, and even my pores appear less noticeable because my skin barrier is finally balanced and hydrated.
The texture is a little thicker than a regular moisturizer, so I prefer using a thinner layer during the day, especially under makeup. But at night, it works beautifully as a repairing treatment. Gentle, effective, and definitely worth the hype!

This is a great rescue cream. No fragrance. Non-greasy. Lightweight. Application is easy. Helps with rashes, dryness, and redness, and feels great. The product itself gets 10 stars. The Amazon price, on the other hand, is not the best. I found it at a local store $2 cheaper. And still, for the size the price is high.

This balm has been amazing for dry and irritated skin. I started using it on rough patches around my nose and cheeks, and it helped calm everything down quickly. The texture is thick but it absorbs better than I expected. A little goes a long way, so the tube lasts quite a while. I also like that it does not have a strong fragrance that irritates sensitive skin. It works well under makeup and overnight as a treatment. I will definitely keep repurchasing this because it has become a staple in my skincare routine.

I’m 52 with post-menopausal, mature dry skin, and this is not something I use casually or every day — it’s what I reach for when my skin barrier is compromised and needs real help. When my skin is irritated, over-exfoliated, reacting to actives, or feeling tight and inflamed, I don’t want glow or anti-aging claims. I want calm, protection, and repair. This balm delivers exactly that.
The texture is rich and occlusive, but not greasy or suffocating. It melts into the skin and immediately takes the edge off irritation — that tight, uncomfortable feeling just stops. Lightweight SPF that layers well under makeup
