The fossil measures 91 mm (3.6 inches) across with matrix, which is very large for this species. The ammonite is very well preserved on both sides with highly detailed suture lines and ribs. There are also some smaller ammonites of the species Crucilobiceras densinodulum on top of the main ammonite. The metallic iron pyrite colour and shine is beautiful. These ammonites are becoming much harder to find these days due to lack of erosion of the right layers of rock. This is a very high-quality specimen.
