Anyone who lives on or near the Atlantic Ocean knows well the difficulty with storms, water supply, heat, insects, and daily life. To research older records, the reader/researcher will have to use the Hyde and Tyrrell County records, which were transcribed by this author. Currituck did not preserve their old records. These records are found in the miscellaneous county record box, containing 7-folders; one of the largest in the Òmiscellaneous collections.Ó Therefore, there are no petitions, but primarily road reports, and road violation issues contained here. There were no ferry records or even a road to a ferry mentioned Ð although several ÒlandingsÓ were documented.
