Product Overview

The Rich Solar 400W Solar Kit is a complete 12V solar package built around two high efficiency 200W monocrystalline panels and a 40A MPPT charge controller. Designed for mobile and off grid power systems, it delivers substantial solar input while keeping the system layout clean and manageable. With matched components and room for expansion on a 12V platform, this kit supports users who want dependable solar generation without overcomplicating their setup. It fits naturally into RVs, trailers, boats, and similar applications where space, efficiency, and system confidence matter.

Why This Product Makes Sense

Choosing a solar kit is less about chasing wattage numbers and more about building a system that behaves predictably over time. Many buyers reach this stage after realizing that piecing together panels, controllers, and wiring from different sources introduces unnecessary friction. Even when individual components look comparable on paper, the uncertainty around how they work together can linger.

This kit is designed to remove that friction by aligning the core components from the start. The two included 200W monocrystalline panels provide a combined 400W of solar capacity using a consistent panel format. With 18 busbars per panel, the design reflects a focus on efficient current collection and stable performance within a compact footprint.

Managing that solar input is the included 40A MPPT charge controller. MPPT technology actively tracks optimal operating conditions, allowing the controller to convert available panel output into usable charging current more effectively as conditions change. This matters in everyday use, where light levels shift throughout the day and consistency is valued more than ideal test conditions.

The controller is rated to support expansion up to 600W on a 12V system, which introduces flexibility into long term planning. Instead of locking a system into a fixed configuration, this headroom allows capacity to grow as power needs become clearer.

Cabling and protection components are included as part of the system, keeping the electrical path intentional from panel to controller to battery. Solar cables and battery cables are sized for their specific roles, supporting efficient power transfer and a clean system layout. An inline fuse holder is included to support circuit protection within the charging path.

Battery compatibility is a common point of concern when building a solar system. This kit is designed for 12V battery systems and can be paired with a 200Ah 12V lithium battery from Rich Solar, reducing guesswork when planning storage alongside generation.

What To Expect From It

In daily operation, the Rich Solar 400W Solar Kit functions as a steady energy source that integrates smoothly into a 12V power system. As sunlight conditions change, the MPPT charge controller manages how power flows from the panels into the battery, creating a consistent charging experience.

The two panel configuration provides flexibility in placement while maintaining unified system behavior. Interaction centers around the charge controller, which becomes the reference point for understanding how solar energy is captured and stored.

When paired with a compatible 12V lithium battery, the kit aligns well with modern mobile power setups and supports a streamlined system architecture.

Too big and heavy for my dog. Spins more often than it rolls. Good material.
The first time we used this, which honestly took a bit too long to figure out, our dog was excited and immediately kicked it under the couch. I guess that makes sense, you really have no idea where this thing is going to end up. I did fish it out after a bit, and it needed a charge. After reassembly, the ball would only spin in circles until it was hit. That's probably just as well, as it was still engaging and less likely to roll away. The issue is this is large and heavy, larger than a tennis ball and heavier than it looks. That's fine for big dogs, but it isn't great for small dogs like Boston terriers or frenchies, and definitely useless for toy breeds. My dog was able to lift it with the module removed, and that's how he prefers it now. The outer TPU layer is strong and grippy, so it's not a total waste. It looks a little rougher than the pictures appear but my dog doesn't mind. I get it... I"ve worked with TPU before and it's a temperamental material. The price is quite low, but not if you aren't getting use out of the mechanical aspect. This is a good value for the right dog: a medium dog with a snout - maybe a sheltie; definitely a golden. For others, a smaller version would be nice.

Hands free toy!!!
This is one of my dogs absolute favorite toys. I have a German shepherd husky mix that is notorious for destroying his toys. This one has stood the test !!! Have had it for about a month and we have played rough with it. The battery lasts forever. It’s such an easy toy too. Stuck under the couch?? It’ll eventually bounce its way out. Dog nudging and you need some space, pop this this on and it’s like a magic trick lol. My dog gets so excited when I pick it up because he knows I’ll turn it on. Sometimes, he will bounce it hoping it will turn on lol. Stronglyyyyyyy recommend.

Might be good for some playful dogs
My dog likes to play fetch with a rubber ball and figured I would give this one a tray as it moves on its own. It is a little on the larger size, so this is likely going to be for a large dog. My dog is about 30 pounds and it was too large of a ball for his mouth. You can open up the ball and set it to bounce on its own by hitting a switch. It will bounce all around and is very quiet. However, my dog is a little nervous and he freaked out at it moving. I ended up giving it to a friend and she said her dog loves chasing around her house and outside. It is a great idea and good for some dogs, but not if your dog is a little skittish.

Fun dog toy!
First, I was impressedby the quality of this ball. It seems quite well made. The adult twists it open, it's tight enough I know my dog cannot open it. Note - there are warnings it is dangerous for a dog to get to the inside. That noted, I would always supervise. There are two choices of modes, one more intense. Hold to activate your choice and tightly put back together. It worked right away, vibrating and shaking. The humans greatly enjoyed, especially a child. My dog, a bit fearful but curious. So we will slowly introduce to her. The is a USB cord included for charging, which is nice. Overall a fun item!

Fun
Great product and works as advertised. My dog is small and was not that interested in it, but my black Labrador was all about it. Simple to use and easy to charge. It’s durable and has lasted against my lab so far.
