The USS New Jersey (BB-62) is a legendary battleship of the United States Navy, known for its remarkable service record and long history. Commissioned in 1943 during World War II, the New Jersey was one of the Iowa-class battleships, designed for speed, firepower, and long-range bombardment. It participated in several key campaigns in the Pacific, including the Battle of Iwo Jima and the Battle of Okinawa, providing vital naval gunfire support. After the war, the New Jersey was decommissioned but saw action again during the Korean War, Vietnam War, and even in the 1980s during the Lebanon Crisis. The ship was known for its powerful 16-inch guns and high level of modernization, making it a formidable force. After being decommissioned for the final time in 1991, the New Jersey was preserved as a museum ship in Camden, New Jersey, where it continues to serve as a symbol of American naval powers or other fees on the receiver’s end.
