Marine Layer, 'Aries' Chardonnay Sonoma Coast 2024"Aries" is the "appellation level" Chardonnay from Marine Layer, made by barrel selection from the single vineyards that they produce. Harvested at night, gently whole cluster pressed then fermented with native yeasts in neutral oak puncheons. Aged in those same puncheons as well as French oak barriques (25% new) for 11 months before a gentle racking into steel tanks for settling and clarification. Bright and fresh, with up front notes of meyer lemon,
