Metal perches near the seed offer seating for smaller birds, while larger birds or squirrels on the perches will cause them to angle downward and close off the tray. Adjust the weight sensitivity of these perches by moving the springs, depending upon the size birds you wish to feed. The rectangular, clear plastic reservoir holds 2.9 quarts of peanut chunks, safflower seed, or mixed seed, which remains visible so you know when to refill it. An integrated baffle at the bottom of the reservoir keeps the seed moving to the trays, preventing mold and dirt from growing. The speckled green, powder coated lid remains connected on the metal hanger, adding another obstacle for squirrels and protecting the seed from moisture. The sturdy steel base features the same powder coating for added durability, while the acrylic seed tube completes the piece.
