This maintains optimum suspension geometry under load to improve braking and handling feedback. Nice socks. They are thin and light weight so they are ideal to wear with snug fitting shoes. They have a nice cable style design to dress them up. I have been wearing a pair all day, and they do not dig into my legs at all. Love that. I have not washed them, but I see no reason why they would not wash up well in cold water and a low dry temperature. The price is great so give them a try.
