Our Soil Association Organic certification means that the ingredients used in these flapjacks are from the purest sources, free from the pesticides and chemicals used in modern intensive farming. Core to TORQ’s ethos is our commitment to purity and the use of organic ingredients where possible and this has been of primary importance during the development of our flapjacks. We are also renowned for producing highly functional energy products and these flapjacks certainly have the signature of TORQ engrained within them. They are packed with useful carbohydrate (43g per 65g bar) to help fuel performance and facilitate recovery, delivered not only from the organic oats, fruit, molasses and syrup, but also from organic maltodextrin, a low osmolality complex carbohydrate glucose polymer with superior carbohydrate delivery properties. The TORQ Explore Flapjacks are organically pure, highly functional and of course delightfully delicious.

Organic Carrot Cake Ingredients: Organic Jumbo Oats, Organic Golden Syrup, Organic Raisins (14%), Organic Dark Brown Sugar (Organic Dark Brown Sugar, Organic Molasses), Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Maltodextrin, Organic Carrot Powder (0.4%), Organic Ground Nutmeg (0.2%), Sea Salt.

Organic Ginger Cake Ingredients: Organic Jumbo Oats, Organic Golden Syrup, Organic Raisins (14%), Organic Dark Brown Sugar (Organic Dark Brown Sugar, Organic Molasses), Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Maltodextrin, Organic Ground Ginger (0.6%), Sea Salt.

Organic Certification & Fairly-Traded Fruit:

All TORQ Bars are certified Organic by the Soil Association. All bars also contain fairly-traded fruit, providing farmers in developing countries a fair price for their produce. These values and principles are extremely important to us at TORQ and whilst we accept no compromise with regard to product performance, the same applies to flavor, nutrient quality and how our ingredients are sourced.

No Flavors and No Colors:

Under exercise stress, digestion is affected as blood is diverted to the working muscles and any solutes added to a product will raise its osmolality unnecessarily, making it harder to digest. So, irrespective of the health debate surrounding the consumption of artificial ingredients, during exercise is certainly not the time to take them. Therefore, no flavoring is added to TORQ Bar (we just utilize the natural flavors already present in the ingredients) and we don’t use colors (artificial or natural), because they simply don’t need to be in the product.

No Artificial Sweeteners:

For the same reasons as highlighted above, we don’t believe in the use of artificial sweeteners like Aspartame, Acsulfame-K, Saccharine and Sucralose. These artificial sweeteners are 100’s of times sweeter than sugar and Aspartame/Acsulfame-K are particularly controversial with regard to long-term health. They offer no performance benefit at all and so our stance here is the same as it is with colors and preservatives – if they don’t need to be included in our formulations for functional reasons, why include them?
