JPS's holiday books take us through the joys, spirit, and meaning of the seasons. Blending the old and the new, they ground us in the origins and traditions of each holiday and open up to us ways we can add our own expression to these special days. Although synagogue ritual is touched upon, the real focus here is on our personal connections to each holiday and our home observance.

As we move from season to season, Paul Steinberg shares with us a rich collection of readings from many of the Jewish greats--Maimonides, Rashi, Nachmanides, Shlomo Carlebach, Marge Piercy, Elie Wiesel, Martin Buber, Abraham Joshua Heschel, Arthur Green, and others--and he guides us in discovering for ourselves the many treasures within each text. The readings teach us about the history of each holiday, as well as its theological, ethical, agricultural, and seasonal importance and interpretation; others give us inspiration and much food for thought. These stories, essays, poems, anecdotes, and rituals help us discover how deeply Jewish traditions are rooted in nature's yearly cycle, and how beautifully season and spirit are woven together throughout the Jewish year.

TL;DR: Not worth the money I’ve had quite a few cooling pillows and, while not the worst, this is also not the best in my experience. First, I had to take the cover off. It was ridiculously thick, thereby negating any cooling effect that I could feel. With the cover removed, the cooling sensation is noticeable when laying your head on it and it lasts for a minute or so. On the bright side, when the cooling feeling completely dissipates, the pillow doesn’t feel hot like some others. Having to lay on it without the cover makes it less comfortable because of the encasing material. Other than that, I’d rate the support and comfort as mediocre as well. Not worth the money in my opinion, maybe if it was about 33%-50% less.

Is this a Casper or Tempurpedic?
When I went to wash the pillow covering I discovered that it iterally had a Tempurpedic factory pillow covering underneath the Casper factory pillow covering - leading me to believe that it was either a return item shipped out as new, and the previous owner actually returned a Tempurpedic pillow disguised as a Casper, or Casper is actually manufactured by Tempurpedic and uses the Casper brand to upcharge. Either way - it's turned out to be an overly expensive - mediocre pillow.

I am very disappointed with this product. I write a lot of reviews and give credit where credit is due. I wish credit was due here. I bought this as a gift for my wife. She slept on it for a few nights and finally stated that it never cools and is hot instead. And so I tried it and found the same thing. I bought an inexpensive cooling pillow from Costco and we both found that one to cool a little bit and it isn’t hot. I’m summary, you don’t always get what you pay for and at $100, this pillow does not deliver. It’s supportive and it seems well made, which is why I give it two stars. But it does not deliver any cooling. Save your money and try a different pillow.
