Description

#Sennheiser SK 2020-D TourGuide, Digital Bodypack Transmitter, 863-865MHzThe Sennheiser SK 2020 D TourGuide (Article Number: 500548) is a robust, lightweight digital bodypack transmitter engineered for guided tours, museum exhibitions, international conferences, and assistive listening environments. Operating on a 100% digital 2 FSK modulation scheme, it completely filters out the static hiss and RF background interference common to older analog tour units, ensuring that visitors receive clear audio from the guide.

The Sennheiser SK 2020-D TourGuide (Article Number: 500548) is a robust, lightweight digital bodypack transmitter engineered for guided tours, museum exhibitions, international conferences, and assistive listening environments.

Operating on a 100% digital 2 FSK modulation scheme, it completely filters out the static hiss and RF background interference common to older analog tour units, ensuring that visitors receive clear audio from the guide.

Deciphering the Frequency Band: 863–865 MHz

The 863–865 MHz identifier indicates that this transmitter is custom-tuned to the European ISM (Industrial, Scientific, and Medical) band.

  • License-Free Broadcast: This exact spectrum segment is completely free to use without an expensive RF operations license across the UK and the vast majority of Europe.

  • Fixed Interlocking Channel Selection: Within this tight 2 MHz window, the transmitter features 6 pre-configured digital channels running completely intermodulation-free. This configuration allows up to 6 separate guides to run concurrent tours in the exact same facility without bleeding into each other's audio feeds.

Key Workflow Engineering & Dual Input Routing

  • Simultaneous Mic & Line Intakes: The top interface of the bodypack features two separate, dedicated input jacks. A guide can secure a standard headset microphone (like a Sennheiser ME 3) into the 3.5mm mic jack while concurrently running pre-recorded museum music or a translated presentation into the secondary 3.5mm line jack from an external playback device.

  • Variable Input Sensitivity Control: Both inputs feature separate electronic trim sensitivity levels accessible via the internal menu framework, preventing low-volume source drop-offs or high-gain input clipping.

  • Lock Mode Defenses: Once your channels and gains are dialed in, a menu-based Lock Mode can be engaged. This locks out all physical buttons, ensuring the guide doesn't accidentally change the channel or mute the unit while handling it.

Hardware Status LED Indicator Guide

The bodypack uses two distinct diagnostic indicator lights located at the top edge for at-a-glance status tracking during a tour:

  • 🟨 Flashing/Solid Yellow: Peak Warning. The guide's voice or line level is hitting the input threshold too hard, indicating you need to turn down the internal input sensitivity.

  • 🟥 Solid Red: The transmitter is explicitly Muted or the battery cells have dropped into critical shutdown parameters (Low Battery).

System Component Advisory

⚠️ Receiver Complement Requirement: The SK 2020-D bodypack transmitter requires matching 2020-D digital receiver units to pass audio. It is fully compatible with both the Sennheiser HDE 2020-D-II Stethoset receivers (all-in-one chin-bow headsets) and the EK 2020-D bodypack receivers (designed for standard external headphones or assistive induction neck-loops). It will not transmit to standard analog evolution wireless receiver racks.

Very sturdy and sleek looking laptop stand
Color: silver
I was skeptical when I first ordered this. It didn't look very sturdy in the pics, but I was wrong. It is very sleek looking and functional, with the adjustable height. Very modern looking as well and my MacBook Pro fits perfectly on it. Very glad to have purchased this for my home office.

Sturdy, works great, not quite perfect.
Color: silver
This was the perfect stand to use when my desktop computer crashed and I had to work on my laptop without killing my neck. It's sturdy, well made, and works exactly as advertised. Adjustment is smooth and simple. I was able to work with my monitor at a comfortable height and distance, and it saved my bacon! But, would I want to work on it indefinitely? No. Two things are lacking for me. First, there's a height adjustment, but no angle control. This means that at its max height, the display has a small downward tilt. It also means that on zoom calls, I had to fiddle with the monitor height until my whole head was framed, rather than cut off. Not a dealbreaker, but annoying over the long term, especially with lots of zoom meetings. Second, I'm not sure why I was surprised, but the stand-plus-laptop combo created a kind of aluminum "monolith" on my desktop. I couldn't bend to peer under it, or over it either. It felt as though part of my desk (albeit a narrow portion) became inaccessible. This too is a quibble--I just happen to like a more open and airy feeling. These two nits aside, this is a sturdy and well designed stand that works well and will last a long time.

Replacement stickers are on the way!!
Color: silver, Color: silver
Edit: Customer service was lovely and I have replacement stickers on the way. This fabulous product has helped me so much and I can't be without it. Back up to a 5 star review. I purchased this product in April 2024. The stickers that help the laptop 'grab' onto the stand are either gone or unstable. See picture below. Can it be repaired with new stickers? How do I get them?

Sixty Bucks? Yep. And I'd buy another one.
Color: silver
OK, I had my doubts. Yes, the iLevel2 is highly-reviewed. And yes, it's really (really) important to have your laptop screen at eye level (get it? iLevel?) But spending 60 dollars on an adjustable laptop stand? Couldn't I just pile up a couple of old books for free? Well, as a contractor once told me when I made a really dumb suggestion, "You COULD do it that way..." The iLevel2's main virtue is that the angle/height adjustment knob is rock-solid, as is the platform. It's just an extremely well-made, solid product. And the adjustment knob, which is on a left-right track on the front of the product, allows you to dial in your laptop's screen height to the millimeter. Result: a totally-custom, ergonomically-friendly setup. Love it.

Underwhelming
Color: silver
Too much hype. It just holds the laptop. Buy something cheaper. The slide adjuster isn’t useful to me at all.
