New Vinyl Record - Benny Sings - ART

Benny Sings will release the reissue of his highly anticipated and most sought after 2011 album 'ART'

The vinyl album is completely remasterd and comes with a new, never releases bonus track 'How Can I Move On'. The vinyl comes with a 20-page songbook on clear white 180 gram vinyl. The album includes the evergreen 'Big Brown Eyes' & 'All We Do For Love' which was heavily supported by Frank Ocean on his Blonde playlist. Benny Sings about 'ART' It's 2008, I had finished my 3rd studio album, and felt like I did all the necessary experiments with songwriting and production techniques on the first 3 albums, to now be free to write whatever I wanted. It felt like I had done my first 3 years in music school, learning the trade, and was now in my final year, to write my big end thesis. My final work that would say it all. The first three albums were more practice, this was going to be the real deal. This time I was going to make ART. Haha. I had one main idea: If I just write as many songs as I could, it would be a matter of time before I would write the perfect song. No "riding the wave of inspiration" for me. Just putting hours in. And so I got to work. I wrote 3 songs a day, for months on end. Just compulsively getting to work every day, punching in the same chords, blurting out the a same melodies and words. And the perfect song did not come along. It felt nightmarish at moments. My relationship just ended, and those days of solitude, filled with constant seemingly senseless repetition were getting to me. Was this the way? is this normal? Am I actually going insane? Until one day, same doubts, same lack of inspiration, I did the thing I did every day: Joylessly punched in some chords, got my book with keywords and phrases out, and began murmuring: Pleaase help me out.. The word "disappear" was in my book, the chorus was about to come in and I sang: "did it just disappear, just a minute ago it was here..." and it felt like the sky opened. This was A SONG. Everything, all the lyrics and meaning of the song were clear in that moment. It was such an emotional moment for me, it was hard to record without crying. So I recorded the lyrics in 10 minutes, and put the song on repeat, and cried for the rest of the day. Maybe because of the breakup, but more because my goal was reached: I wrote an actual song with meaning and emotion. Something I hadn't done like this before. I cracked the code. I once saw an interview with a mathematician that made a very important discovery in math. He tells about the moment the solution came to him, in his bathroom. When it happened he cried for hours. These were the same tears. Look, I'm not saying Big Brown Eyes is an all-time classic, that is supposed to be up there with Blackbird and Hotel California. All I'm saying is, it is a song that works for a certain group of people. It is worth something. It has been my top streaming song up to date. And it just works as an all-round piece. So, did I go on like this, and find other real songs? Nope. Of course there were songs after that, that I liked, that made the album. Imperfect songs are also nice to listen to. But that song, Big Brown Eyes, is what this album is about for me.

This is a sleek, light wristwatch that will not weigh you down with its bulk. Forget the gigantic profile of a "survivalist" wristwatch. This unisex model is svelte and slim, not adding much to the wake you generate while swimming, or the swing of your arms while running, or the wind as it passes around your wrists and hands while you are speeding by on your racing bike. This is only 34mm across, by 35mm tall, by 11.5mm thick. The wristband is 13mm at its median working width. Timex styling cannot be beat, and neither is the resin-rubber-like material. I don't know about you, but the price is something I take a good look at. I want a watch that is reasonably priced and high-quality. I don't want to spend $200 to $1000 on a watch and worrying about being careful with it. If it gets smashed, it's only $30 to $50, not a big loss, and the quality is way better than what they were making in the 1980's. These watches are made for athletics and the real world.

                              Great watch, flimsy band
                              Color: Gray/Lilac
I bought this watch to replace a similar model because the band broke. I see this is a recurrent problem in many other reviews. However, I liked the watch enough to buy it again anyway. I found the new model easy to set, being fairly intuitive. So far it keeps perfect time. I use this watch mainly as a travel watch, and loved the dual time zone function. I am pleased that the newer model now has the ability to set 3 times zones instead of 2, which is an added bonus. The only con I see at this point is the flimsy strap. Unfortunately, the strap on this model is even thinner than on the previous one, and I wonder how long it will last. Also I wonder about the battery length. I think these watches may have been sitting around a long time. The setting showed 2012. I am afraid much of the battery life of the original battery may have already been used up and the battery may need replacing early. Only time will tell. The watch fits my small wrist fine and it is a little more attractive than the old model. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 only because of the band problem.

Always love the quality of a Timex watch. Great fit for smaller wrists.

Fine for a man (with skinny wrists)
                              Color: Black/Gray, Color: Black/Gray
I have an older mens ironman which has gotten a little beat up and needs replacing. The band is much longer than I need. The metal clasp sits off-center on the underside of my wrist, closer to the part of my wrist which curves around to the front. The too-long strap sometimes flops around and catches on things. I couldn't find a smaller-band mens version, so I tried this "womens" watch (picking the most manly-looking one, of course). I like it better. The band fits my wrist much better, with the metal band in the middle and no flop. I also like that the watch is lighter and the face and band are smaller and less bulky, so it is less noticeable when I'm wearing it (cycling weight weenies will appreciate this). The face is still large enough to be easily legible and contains all of the same great features as my mens ironman watch, plus the newer versions now have an hourly chime, nice! Other info: my wrist is ~17.5cm or ~7.0" around. On this watch, I use the 6th out of 9 slots on the band. On my mens ironman, I use the 3rd out of 9 slots. Weight: this one = 28g, mens = 39g. Pics show comparison of my prior mens ironman with this new "womens" ironman. Photo order is confusing (couldn't figure out how to change that). They are: (1) side-by-side, mens on left, (2) mens band (wider and clasp is off-center on my wrist, end of band hangs over the edge of my wrist -- too long for me -- catches on things), (3) womens band (less wide, clasp is more centered on my wrist and end does hang over edge of my wrist), (3) womens watch (smaller, and looks new), and (5) mens watch, looking a little beat up.

                              Watch holds up in saltwater!
                              Color: Black/Gray
I bought this watch to use for my trip to the Galapagos Islands. I read two reviews that the watch does not hold up in salt water. I went snorkeling in the ocean 6 times, about 45 minutes each time. The watch did not leak. I did take precautions by keeping the watch under my rash guard and lowering myself slowly into the water. I also rinsed off my watch each time I snorkeled. I also bought this watch for the multi time zone feature by saving the time on the west coast, east coast and Galapagos time since I cannot change the time on my Fitbit until I land in an airport. I did not use any other features of the watch because I generally use my phone or Fitbit for an alarm or timer. The only complaint I have is that Timex now discourages changing the battery by the consumer. I changed the battery myself on my old Ironman watch. The new Ironman watch is fitted with triangular head screws. So I will have to purchase screwdrivers with triangular heads when it comes time to change the battery.
