The X7 is an electric scooter of the KIXIN model series. Not only does this scooter belong to the excellent price/performance ratio scooter category, but with its weight of only 12.5kg it also classified as an ultra-light scooter. There are several reasons why it deserves recognition and attention. It offers a removable battery installed directly inside the steering rod, thanks to which it is also resistant to splashing water coming from any direction (IP54). You will be pleased to see three brakes available – an electric one at the front, a mechanical disc brake at the rear, plus a classic foot brake. You can choose between 8.5-inch or 10-inch, air-filled wheels that contribute to comfort and a pleasant riding experience.

Being lightweight and compact, this scooter is perfect for practical everyday urban lifestyle. Its range of 20 km and top speed of 25 km/h classify it among scooters mostly suitable for short city trips. In terms of prices, the X7 and H8 models are comparable to Xiaomi scooters. However, they offer better technical specs than Xiaomi products and, especially, larger wheels – up to 10 inches that make riding incomparably more comfortable than the competing models.

This model is suitable for short city trips of up to 7-10 km daily. The range stated by the manufacturer may be 20 km, however it is influenced by multiple factors, such as road condition, inclination, rider’s weight and, last but not least, his/her riding style.

We should keep in mind that discharging the battery to zero on a regular basis damages it and shortens its serviceable life. However, when it comes to this scooter, there is no need to despair. Thanks to the sophisticated design in the form of a battery installed directly inside the steering rod and its easy removal, the range can be extend whenever needed. How come? Simple. All you have to do is to get a second battery and take it with you fully charged in a backpack as it only takes a few seconds to have it swapped, no skills of a service technician required.

You can easily, quickly and, most importantly, intuitively fold the entire scooter and unfold it back in a few seconds time. Thanks to its low weight, you can carry it up the stairs without troubles or load it into a car or a tram. You will appreciate its compact dimensions once you fully fold the scooter, being able to take it with you to the office or restaurant where it will not bother anybody, which means you won’t have to leave it locked in the street. You can also easily fit it inside the trunk of a regular car with enough space left for other necessary luggage. When it comes to “practicality”, it is certainly necessary to mention that as one of few scooters it is resistant to splashing water from any direction, which was made possible by the already mentioned clever placement of the battery inside the steering rod. Meaning, in case of wet roads or light rain, you do not have to leave it at home and be left at the city’s mercy without your favourite transport means.

The HX X7 electric scooter is supplied with 36 V and 5 Ah battery, corresponding to 180 Wh of stored energy, and is capable of a 20 km range per single charge that only takes 3 hours. We should not forget that this range depends on circumstances that definitely include road condition, inclination, rider weight and, naturally, his/her riding style. That is why we would rather rely on slightly shorter trips not exceeding 7-10 kilometers. The scooter is driven by a motor installed directly in the front wheel’s hub, delivering 350 W power, which is plenty enough for normal riding around a larger city. Since this model features as many as three brakes, you will definitely not have to worry about not being able to stop your scooter safely. Contributing to reliable riding are the electric brake at the front, mechanical disc brake at the rear and also the classic foot brake. With this model, you do not have to worry about wet roads or light rain as the scooter is resistant to splashing water coming from any direction. However, it remains true that one needs to drive carefully. The road in front of you is clearly visible thanks to the scooter’s lighting system. At the same time, you are properly visible to other road users. You can choose between 8.5-inch or 10-inch air-filled wheels. With both wheel sizes, we recommend avoiding large potholes to prevent a flat tire. At first, the air-filled wheels might seem this scooter’s weakness. However, the opposite is true as they represent an effective and reliable solution compensating for the lacking suspension. If you want to enjoy more comfort, you should definitely go with larger wheels. These 10-inch wheels are a big advantage compared to Xiaomi models that only offer 8.5-inch wheels.

The scooter is made in classic black finish, or possibly in elegant black-silver combination. This manufacturer’s models look very simple, lightweight and sleek. The cabling is only visible in one small area and might not be noticed at all by less attentive observers. As a result, they might even think this is an “ordinary non-electric” scooter. The rear fender not only looks functional but it is precisely what it is. You can definitely throw away any fear of your pants or calves (in case of women) getting muddy while riding. The design of the folding mechanism matches the rest of the scooter body and looks very clean and elegant. This model offers 8.5-inch or 10-inch, air-filled wheels that make riding the scooter comfortable. This is especially true with 10-inch wheels, which compensate for the missing suspension better and that is why we surely recommend them. They help filtering out vibrations and bumps. However, you should rather go around any large potholes to avoid getting a flat front or rear tire. The beautiful, elegantly thin step-on board is an interesting feature hinting the clean look of non-electric scooters since the battery is cleverly hidden in the steering rod.

Awesome USB-C Hub
My new MacBook Air has USB-C ports only, so I recently upgraded to this USB-C hub, a 7in1 Multi-Port USB-C Adapter, and it has completely solved all of my port needs. With the two USB-A ports, I can still use my old memory sticks, without replacing them, as well as two USB-C ports, all making moving files, movies and pictures, with ease. I needed something fast and reliability, and this little device delivers on both fronts. One of the USB-C ports it a power passthrough, which works great for charging device, like my MacBook Air. It is very easy to use, just plug and play, making it compatible with the MacBook Air. Also has a built in card reader, and a HDMI port, pretty much covering all your port needs. If you are looking for a well built, reliable, fast, and compact USB-C hub that can everything, this is the one to get. Highly recommended!

Good value and best of all - it works
This did the job I wanted it to. Expanded the ports when my laptop just ran out. No delay or ANY issue no matter what I plugged where and after a little figuring out where things went (not difficult) its performing very well. As far as value, its great. I always evaluate something by if I would purchase it again. Yes I would. if you need it, get it and set it up and move on with less worry about port capacity.

Good Multipurpose Hub, Some Limits on Power Draw
I use this with a Dell Latitude 7430 with a 65W charger, and it works fine as a docking hub. The only problem I've encountered is when rebooting, the boot will pause with a warning message to tell me that the laptop may encounter reduced performance because it isn't able to receive the full 65 watts. I don't get that warning if I'm not running the power supply through the hub. Otherwise, if I just use the hub as a port extender everything is fine. It has a compact design and is reasonably lightweight. It would be ideal for travel. Like my other Anker hubs, it's well constructed and doesn't feel cheap although it's good value for money.

I don't know how I ever lived without it.
I'm very happy with this device. My laptop doesn't have an ethernet port and only has one USB-C SuperSpeed port, so I bought an ethernet to USB-C cable to connect my ethernet switch to the Anker and into my laptop's USB-C port, and it works great. I don't need a fast internet connection for the things I do, so my service is only a 50mbps symmetrical up/down connection, and that's what I get even while transferring files from my external between other devices, charging my phone, and using composite devices. I bought the Anker 100W Compact and Foldable USB C Charger for it and it charges my S24 extremely fast. It's very well built, yet super lightweight. I love the sleek, slender design. It's the perfect size to easily slide into a pocket, store in a desk drawer, or keep handy in a laptop case or backpack. Using it is easy. Just plug it into your computer and plug your devices into it. Just make sure you have a power supply for it if you're charging or powering other devices, using external storage, or running anything else that taxes USB power. I have had ZERO connectivity issues with it — no random disconnect/reconnect blips, no failed transfers for huge amounts of data that have taken up to 45 minutes, no static his or crackle when my headset is running through it... no problems at all. It's actually kind of spooky now that I think about it... I can't recall a time I've ever had a similar device that didn't have some nuance that got under my skin, like a loose connection, random disconnections, having to reinstall the drivers all the time, or having to troubleshoot just to get it connected for the first time. The most stress I've put it through was with my keyboard connected, ethernet running through it, my S24 charging and transferring about ~20gb of pictures and videos to my 2T external HD at the same time that my laptop was transferring about ~500gb of media and documents to the HD, too, and I was surprised by how warm it DIDN'T get. My only complaint is trivial and unique to my situation — I wish output cord was longer. About six inches would do. My laptop sits up on an adjustable stand that clamps to my desk, and the end where the output cord is hangs a few inches off of my desk. This puts extra stress on the USB-C port and can wear it out faster or damage it. I haven't had a use for the HDMI port yet, but I eventually will. I use all of the other ports for my work and personal devices, though. These include: a 2tb external hard drive; a Poly Blackwire 3320 Series headset; a dongle for a wireless mouse/keyboard combo or a wired keyboard and a dongle for a wireless mouse; my Galaxy S24 charges and transfers files through it super fast; I have several thumb drives ranging from 20gb to 512gb that I regularly use; I recently bought an RCA/S Video-to-USB converter to digitize old home movies I plug into it, too.

Anker wins again.
Worked well for usb hub but hdmi was not reliable. Disappointed because usually Anker products are good quality. UPDATE: Anker voluntarily offered a refund so my faith in Anker has been fully restored.
