Long before the United States was a nation, it was a set of ideas, projected onto the New World by European explorers with centuries of belief and thought in tow. From this foundation of expectation and experience, America and American thought grew in turn, enriched by the bounties of the Enlightenment, the philosophies of liberty and individuality, the tenets of religion, and the doctrines of republicanism and democracy. Crucial to this development were the thinkers who nurtured it, from Thomas Jefferson to Ralph Waldo Emerson, W.E.B. DuBois to Jane Addams, and Betty Friedan to Richard Rorty. The Ideas That Made America: A Brief History traces how Americans have addressed the issues and events of their time and place, whether the Civil War, the Great Depression, or the culture wars of today. Spanning a variety of disciplines, from religion, philosophy, and political thought, to cultural criticism, social theory, and the arts, Jennifer Ratner-Rosenhagen shows how ideas have been major forces in American history, driving movements such as transcendentalism, Social Darwinism, conservatism, and postmodernism. In engaging and accessible prose, this introduction to American thought considers how notions about freedom and belonging, the market and morality -- and even truth -- have commanded generations of Americans and been the cause of fierce debate.Binding Type: Hardcover

Beautiful comfortable heel
Size: 7, Color: Amber Gold
Love these shoes! I wore to a wedding without breaking them in and my feet didn’t start to hurt until 9 hours into the event! I am usually between a 6 and 6.5 and got a 6.5 and they fit perfectly.

I love this purse- I have it in cream and gold. It looks high quality and has held up well with lots of use. Big enough to fit a decent amount of things inside.

Absolutely beautiful!
Color: Brown, Color: Brown
I needed a purse for my brown/orange colors to use occasionally. I returned a black one from a different company but I loved the gold handle. I saw this and realized it was perfect! I like the shape of this handle and the texture/color better anyway. Not too big or small, beautiful color and the magnets are great. There’s a zipper compartment inside. The chain is pretty sturdy but it’s removable and you can attach a different handle/strap if you’d like
I love the look as I’ve got two Brahmin bags . The texture prevents being to see any small scratches and you can just wipe it off with a damp cloth
I’ll carry it with the chain inside but don’t know if I’ll use it. People complain about the quality but seriously? It’s a $30 bag! I think it’s a great value myself. It’s sturdy enough to keep looking very nice and functional for a long time.. If you’re looking for a small clutch, this isn’t it, but it’s not too big either. I love it !
