Far Out Recordings present the first ever vinyl reissue of Cry Babies' self-titled debut album, originally released in 1969. An early formation of Brazilian funk greats Banda Black Rio, Cry Babies took inspiration from the iconic US soul records of James Brown, The Isley Brothers, and Kool & The Gang, all of whom are covered on their first and only album. Pioneering Brazil's funk fascination, Cry Babies paved the way for the likes of Jorge Ben, Dom Salvador, Trio Mocotó, and Azymuth: with fat, funky drum breaks, big round bass, touches of psychedelic Brazilian surf, and the kind of hazy soulful arrangements that could only emerge from Rio de Janeiro. Produced by one of Brazil's most prolific musical minds, Durval Ferreira - whose songwriting and production credits also include Sergio Mendes, Deodato, Emilio Santiago, Ed Lincoln, Joao Bosco, Quarteto Em Cy, and Dila - the Cry Babies sound, while distinctly North American in influence, carries all the sunshine warmth of the samba jazz and bossa nova records that were coming out of Brazil at the time. With saxophonist Oberdan Magalhães responsible for the album's arrangements, it's no surprise that when Warner Music established themselves in Brazil in the mid-seventies, Magalhães was the man they asked to form a group (Banda Black Rio) to develop this new merging of stateside soul and Brazilian influences. Yet while Banda Black Rio's tight, groove-heavy sound has awarded them cult status amongst lovers of instrumental Brazilian music, their first formation as Cry Babies is a lesser-known story. Since it's first and only release, the original record has remained impossibly expensive and hard to find. This first ever vinyl reissue has been remastered and pressed to 180 gram vinyl, with a high-quality replica sleeve.

My cats are too lazy for this

I bought this in hopes that my cats would find it entertaining, as they've never had to work for treats before, they unanimously decided to simply meow and look cute. THATS all it takes and poof! They get a treat.. (It gets me every time). It is an interesting well made item and seems sturdy and intriguing, my cats are just spoiled Lil stinkers who don't want to "struggle" to get a treat...lol

Perfect puppy starter kit and gift! Perfect for plane rides and kennel!

Perfect puppy gift! We use the kennel as her safe haven, and for potty training . This heartbeat tool is amazing and helped our puppy get acclimated to her kennel. She goes into her kennel and sleeps with it on her own. It calmed her down on the plane completely. We had a 6-hour flight and she did fine with the heartbeat toy. At home innthe kennel, the whining was very very minimal the first couple days, then it stopped. As you would hear and see her snuggle up and fall asleep. I think it is a bit pricy, but not too bad for the benefit. The heartbeat is seperate and is putninside a pouch on the stuffed animal. The blanket is soft, beautiful and perfect size. Good quality fabric. Both chew toys were loved by her.I do notice my large breed puppy prefers the rope and small tennis ball type chew toys. However, she plays with these too. Haven't used the heating packs yet, they go inside the pouch with the heartbeat item. I am sure we will because my puppy does love to be in front of my small heater under my desk to keep my feet warm. The packaging was extremely nice and fancy and was complimentary to the items inside.

Best Idea for Puppy's First Day Home

I was a bit reserved on purchasing this kit because it was a bit expensive. After a month now with my pup at home, this was the best investment for us and our GSD. On the first night, we used the heart beating snuggle puppy and blanket. She slept the entire night without an accident or a cry. The heartbeat in the snuggle puppy and the heat pad was the best idea. Our puppy never felt alone (just fyi, her crate was in the room with us for the 2 weeks).
A month later, she is so protective of her snuggle puppy. We only used 1 heat pack to soothe her during the first week. The heat packs last a while. Our GSD now uses the snuggle puppy as a pillow or an object to be close to while she is in her crate. Any new puppy owner could definitely benefit from using this. Of course, with all things puppy, it does require a bit of time to correlate toys as a positive thing. We exclusively keep the snuggle puppy in her crate and make it a part of her secure place.
My GSD puppy did really care for the teething heart toy. Even after freezing it, she didn't care for it. She also outgrew the small toy. She will chew it from time to time but it doesn't entertain her much.
I found the kit, overall, very helpful with our puppy's adjustment to our home. She sleeps through the night since 8 weeks old and now at 12 weeks old. We've never had an accident in her crate overnight with the help with the snuggle puppy.
