Featuring over 600 wildflowers, flowering shrubs, and vines, this user-friendly field guide is the first to focus on the rare, fragile lands and species of the Sandhills region of the Carolinas and Georgia. Characterized by longleaf pine forests, rolling hills, abundant blackwater streams, several major rivers, and porous sandy soils, the Sandhills region stretches from Fayetteville, North Carolina, southwest to Columbus, Georgia, and represents the farthest advance of the Atlantic Ocean some 2 million years ago.

Wildflowers of the Sandhills Region is arranged by habitat, with color tabs to facilitate easy browsing of the nine different natural communities whose plants are described here. Bruce A. Sorrie, a botanist with over 30 years of experience, includes common plants, region-specific endemics, and local rarities, each with its own species description, and over 540 color photos for easy identification. The field guide's opening section includes an introduction to the Sandhills region's geology, soil types, and special relationship to fire ecology; an overview of rare species and present conservation efforts; a glossary and key to flower and leaf structures; and a listing of gardens, preserves, and parklands in the Sandhills region and nearby where wildflowers can be seen and appreciated. Wildflower enthusiasts and professional naturalists alike will find this comprehensive guide extremely useful.

Good quality bags
I'm far from a professional coffee roaster, but I do enjoy it. I used to use just little plastic bags when giving coffee to friends and family, but these work so much better! They are quite thick and just feel like they're quality. I do not have a mylar sealer, but I did figure out that a vacuum heat sealer will work. Just gotta run the heat part a couple times. Probably not as good as a real mylar sealer, but it works. Again, I'm not professional. I like that, being black bags, they include a roll of labels. Hard to write on black, so this was a nice addition. Overall, these are great bags.

The valve allows for the release of carbon dioxide gas while preventing oxygen from entering the bag
Note that you will need a heat sealer to seal these bags. The high-barrier aluminum foil construction of these bags provides excellent protection against moisture, oxygen, and light, which are the primary factors that can degrade the quality and freshness of coffee beans. The side zipper design and heat sealable feature ensure a tight seal, effectively preventing any air from entering or escaping the bag. The inclusion of a valve allows for the release of carbon dioxide gas while preventing oxygen from entering the bag, further preserving the flavor and aroma of the coffee beans. These bags are really great for storing coffee.

Nice design, easy to pour, smooth coffee.
This is a really great design. We've been using this since July of 2024 and it's come in really handy for daily coffee making. Much smoother than a drip machine, and less coffee is needed. This starts the journey coffee making artisans.

Just the perfect size!
Love the size of the carafe. Smaller than expected but that was what I was hoping for. A good 2½ to 3 cups full. Looks modern and Chic and blends in with all the other stainless steel appliances in my kitchen.

It's nice, but the glass is super thin
Everything about this is built really well, except the glass. I'll get into the glass at the end of this, so stick with me. The stand is real heavy and overbuilt if you ask me, but that makes it super stable. The rubber mat on the bottom is a nice touch. The rubber that holds the metal cone on the stand keeps it stable too. The cone works great with #4 coffee filters (I've got a mess of them). They're a bit big but they still fit. I actually use it a lot of times without the stand because I weigh my water as I add it. The cone fits nicely right in the top of the glass. The glass though. It's SUPER thin. I've had a Chemex knock-off that was slightly thicker than this break just from setting it on the counter wrong. I'm just waiting for this thing to shatter on me for no reason. This would be a great unit if that glass wasn't so thin.
