This handmade folding knife is created for collectors and everyday carry users who appreciate fine detail, solid materials, and traditional metalwork. The blade is forged and deeply engraved, giving the knife a bold visual presence combined with reliable cutting performance.

Pick up this engraved folding knife and you feel the weight of solid brass before you see the detail. Hand-engraved floral scrollwork covers the handle from bolster to tip, and the same deep-cut pattern runs across the stainless steel blade. Open it and the lockup is crisp. This is a working knife built to carry every day and look better the longer you carry it.

The Blade

The blade is forged from stainless steel and hand-engraved with traditional floral scroll detailing. That engraving runs across the flat of the blade, giving it visual depth that polished production steel cannot match. The edge ships sharpened and ready to use straight from the box. Stainless steel resists corrosion well, which makes this knife a reliable choice in humid conditions or coastal climates.

The Handle

The handle is solid brass, fully engraved by hand with a floral and vine pattern that mirrors the blade work. Brass carries natural warmth and heft that fills a bare hand without feeling bulky. The contoured shape seats the fingers naturally, and the engraving adds grip texture without sharp edges. In a gloved hand the balance stays consistent and the profile stays pocketable.

The Build

This knife folds cleanly and locks solid. The pivot is smooth enough for one-hand opening and firm enough that there is no blade wobble under light cutting pressure. The overall size sits squarely in the EDC range: small enough for a front pocket, substantial enough to feel purposeful in the hand. Because each knife is individually finished by hand, weight and balance carry a subtle uniqueness to your specific piece.

Real-World Use

This knife handles light cutting work best: breaking down boxes, slicing cord, food prep at camp, or field dressing small game. A collector who actually carries, a hunter packing a compact folder in a chest pack, or someone who wants a tool that draws a compliment when set on the table will reach for this one. Hand-engraved steel takes longer to finish than a machine-stamped blade, and the result shows precisely where production knives look ordinary.

The JW Difference

JW SteelCrafts is a Texas brand. Every piece is finished by hand, which means no two knives leave the shop with identical engraving. Ships in 5 to 10 business days. Arrives ready to carry or display.

Who Is This For

  • The everyday carrier who wants a knife that starts a conversation, not just a tool that opens boxes
  • The collector looking for a hand-finished piece with visible artisan work on both blade and handle
  • The gift buyer searching for a functional keepsake for Father's Day, retirement, or a groomsman set
  • The outdoorsman who packs a compact folder and wants one that pulls field duty and looks good doing it

How to Use It

Hold the handle with a standard four-finger grip, thumb resting on the spine. Open the blade one-handed using the thumb stud at the pivot. The lock engages automatically on full open. For slicing tasks, use light pulling pressure and let the edge do the work. Close by pressing the lock release and folding the blade back slowly until it seats in the handle.

How to Care for It

After Every Use

  • Wipe the blade and handle with a dry cloth after each use

  • Hand wash with mild soap and warm water if soiled

  • Dry immediately and completely after washing

  • Never put this knife in a dishwasher

Every Few Weeks

  • Apply a thin coat of food-safe mineral oil to the blade

  • Work oil into the pivot and folding mechanism with a clean cloth

  • Wipe off any excess before carrying

Storage

  • Store in a dry location away from humidity

  • Do not store in a sealed bag without airflow if any moisture is present

  • A fabric or leather slip prevents surface scratches on the engraving

Sharpening

  • Use a fine whetstone or ceramic rod to sharpen

  • Maintain the original edge bevel angle; do not alter the grind geometry

  • Strop on leather after sharpening to refine the edge before carrying

FAQs

Is the blade really handmade?

Is it legal to carry in the US?

Folding knives are legal in most US states, but blade length restrictions and carry laws vary by state and locality. Check your local laws before carrying.

How do I sharpen this knife?

Use a fine whetstone or ceramic sharpening rod. Hold the original bevel angle and make consistent passes on both sides. Finish on a leather strop for a refined edge.

delightful read
Format: Kindle
What a delightful read. The characters are awesome, the plot was so good, I loved it. I was intrigued and it kept me wanting more. Told in multiple pov, the book sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I cannot wait to read the next book.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
