Ten Things You Can Do to Get Out of the Hospital Alive- Make sure all your known allergies are clearly marked on your chart, wrist band, or on a piece of paper taped above your bed.
- Mark the area of your body to be operated on with a felt-tip pen.
- Never eat or drink anything before surgery, even if the nurse brings you a food tray.
- Tell your anesthesiologist if you're on any type of medication.
- Have a reliable advocate with you as often as possible throughout your hospital stay.
- Write your name prominently on a piece of paper and tape it to the wall above your bed.
- Always ask the nurse to check the name and dosage of any medication he or she is about to give you.
- Don't let anyone bully you.

I'd recommend it, especially at this give-away-price
As a sociologist, I was always interested as to how the USSR could morph what Marx considered communalism networked by a shallow, weak, centralized and supposedly representative government into what I would considered an extremest left-wing oligarchy (most fashionably consider it right-wing despite how it was sold and supported by the people that allowed it- so much for cultural relativity and in context social analysis!). If Stalin actually wrote these pieces (or more commonly among dictators farmed it out to a frightened academic ghostwriter) then it could help explain why Marx disassociated himself with much of the Marxist movement toward the end of his life. It is a logically written and well informed book - worth the read if you are into the sociology of politics, philosophy of politics or the history of politics. I'd recommend it, especially at this give-away-price!

Good book, mediocre edition
Format: Paperback
This review pertains to the quality of this edition's editing and construction, rather than the content of the book itself. Rest assured that the text itself remains a valuable piece of introductory theory.
The book is fairly well constructed, with paper and a binding that is sturdy enough for general use. However, my copy had several manufacturing errors including folded over pages being stuck into the binding. In addition, there are several misspelled words throughout the text and some obvious typos (missing letters, incorrect capitalization and punctuation) that did not majorly impact the readability of the text, but were, nevertheless, annoying.
Considering the low price of this edition the manufacturing errors are hardly a big deal, but I would have preferred the text itself to have been treated with more care and respect while being prepared for printing.

thoughts on Xi Jinping
Format: Kindle
This book was highly organized and very easy to comprehend. I have formed a much better understanding of Xi Jinping and where he is taking China. Although I feel he has been thoughtful and successful in some areas such as improving China economically, I don’t feel his autocratic approach will succeed in the long run when more Chinese people will demand to be heard. Just as Mao thought didn’t outlast Mao, Xi thought will not outlast Xi.
