GUNS N’ ROSES - TWO NIGHTS AT HOLLYWOOD BOWL 2023 (6CDR)The last two shows of 2023 at the Hollywood Bowl on November 1 and 2 are now available in high quality, complete recordings! Both performances were recorded in a quality that could not be better for outdoor audience recordings, but the most noteworthy thing about the two consecutive performances at the same venue is the daily setlists and their contents. The first day featured "LOCOMOTIVE," "STREET OF DREAMS," "MADAGASCAR," and the new song "PERHAPS,"

The last two shows of 2023 at the Hollywood Bowl on November 1 and 2 are now available in high-quality, complete recordings! Both performances were recorded in a quality that could not be better for outdoor audience recordings, but the most noteworthy thing about the two consecutive performances at the same venue is the daily setlists and their contents. The first day featured "LOCOMOTIVE," "STREET OF DREAMS," "MADAGASCAR," and the new song "PERHAPS," while the second day featured not only the new song but also the new song "THE GENERAL," which will be released as its B-side, and was performed for the first time on the second day. This is an item that cannot be missed and can be said to be the definitive touring album of the year in terms of content!

An epic naval history decades in the making
Format: Hardcover
Excellent ending to Dr. Rodger's three book series "A Naval History of Britain", with the same level of detail and interesting presentation of facts I have come to expect from reading other of his works over the years. For anyone interested in a comprehensive naval history of Britain (from which the US Navy inherited much of its tradition), I would highly recommend this series. In addition, "The Wooden World: An Anatomy of the Georgian Navy" is also quite a good read. My (incomplete, sadly) collection of Dr. Rodger's works will continue to hold a special place on my naval history shelf for easy reference in the future. I also hope Dr. Rodger's health has improved. The shipper unfortunately did not pack this book well, resulting in minor damage (mostly cosmetic - book is still entirely readable).

Answers Many Questions about Naval Developments
Format: Hardcover
The history offers a detailed and well organized account of the Royal Navy as it transitioned from sail to steam. Coverage included personalities, technology, tactics and strategy. The combination provided a complete appreciation of the dynamics at play, some unexpectedly. The details might be a bit much for a casual reader but offered plenty of avenues for research not available or compiled in one source. I look forward to the final volume, which should describe another watershed era.

Great Book with a different perspective
Format: Hardcover
This will be a short review of a very long book. I ordered the book expecting more of a history of the British Navy, but this is more of a history of Britain with respect to its navy. It is still excellent and authoritative, just different than I expected. I really appreciate a somewhat different perspective than I have found in some other books. For example, any discussion of Jackie Fisher I have read previously seemed to border on the hagiographic, whereas here he seems to get a very evenhanded appraisal. A great book, highly recommended.
