"Two mind-bending slabs of acoustic and electric guitars, wandering into corners of acid-logic only accessible to bravest explorers. Elkhorn is a duo - Jesse Sheppard and Drew Gardner - from NYC. Their earlier records (Elkhorn on Beyond Is Beyond, The Black River on Debacle) would have blown us away, even if we didn't know Jesse from his work as a film-maker (he directed the Glenn Jones/Jack Rose doc, The Things That We Used to Do) and organizer (he put together the 1,000 Incarnations of the Rose festival). Elkhorn's music, which we had suspected might be in a fairly traditional American Primitive vein, was anything but. And these two LPs (released individually, but recorded more or less simultaneously) explore a whole warren of new style caverns. Sun Cycle (FTR 425AB-LP) was recorded at Jason Meagher's Black Dirt Studio and is closer to their pure duo sound (although guitarist Willie Lane and percussionist Ryan Jewell are along for the ride). There are elements of the American Primitive thread present, but these touch mostly on the outer reaches of the form, like Gene Estibou & Jean-Claude Pickens' Intensifications, or the crazy distentions of MV and PG Six. Layers of pluck and soar and light percussion mix at the upper edge of the cosmic barrier, and Sun Cycle is, to our ears, Elkhorn's most adventurous and fully realized album yet. On Elk Jam, Willie Lane and Ryan Jewell function more as members of a psychedelic folk-rock quartet, and the troupe takes things even deeper in a Bay Area-styled trip zone. Recalling the classic ruminations of Mountain Bus, the full four man Elkhorn is exactly what the doctor prescribed for a generation of sack-butts who imagine John Mayer's pudgy phallus-riffs have shit to do with transcendental psych exploration. Elkhorn are the true sonic dealio. Instrumental music doesn't get much better than this. As Capt. Beefheart once said, 'If you got ears/You gotta listen!' Former celeb makeup artist thinks this is THE best!

I was a pretty successful makeup artist based in NY for many years. I am OBSESSED with eyebrows because even a few millimeters and a different angle can affect the way the entire face looks. Most importantly-I started drawing my eyebrows on in the 1970’s at AGE 12 because I was tired of people asking me “why I plucked my eyebrows” at age 12. I hardly ever had any-so from a very young age I drew them on. Now I am 58-and nothing is more aging than a face with no eyebrows. I won’t even walk my dogs without drawing them on-lol! I am as obsessed with product quality as I was when working my career and at the top of my game, so I try EVERYTHING. I also put my brows on first thing in the morning and do not want them to move or wear off under any conditions-so these relatively new extreme wear products are genius. I have tried ALL the eyebrow “pens” and this is the best. I have almost zero natural brows now, so I draw on each hair with the fine tip (microblade style) in the shape I want. I use two shades, a lighter and a darker because it creates the most real looking optical illusion on my face. I do not have to blend-but a spoolie type thing is attached to the lid if needed. This is the only brand that stays on, never smudges when I work out and even stays on through the night if I wear no makeup and wash my face with a non oil cleanser lightly. (I usually use a cleansing oil and that is the best way to remove this product as well) You can also remove this brow pen with an oil based eye makeup remover (Garnier-but even then it resists removal-genius!) There are about 4 or 5 brow products I think are good enough (out of the 50 plus I have tried in my career) and due to ease of application, shades, fine tip and longest wear-this is holy grail for me.

Good product

I do not buy Cover Girl products, but took a chance on this. I am happy I did. This is a nice eyebrow pencil, for a drugstore brand. It does not have the Cover Girl smell. The color was fine for me. It most certainly does not last 24 hours though. I've no idea why the company is allowed to use that in the name.
