Six Questions Your Made in the Shade Blinds & More Franchise Pitch Deck Must Answer

We built this franchise unit pitch deck in Microsoft PowerPoint format using our own deep-dive research into the window treatment sector. All slides come pre-populated with realistic data, including a Year 1 revenue target of $690,000 and a lean mobile operating model. You can defintely customize every field to match your specific territory and local labor costs.

Why now, and what urgent local customer need does this franchise unit address?

Homeowners in high-growth residential corridors are increasingly looking for premium, shop-at-home services that save time and offer expert design advice. This model addresses the frustration of DIY measuring and the lack of personalized service at big-box retailers.

Market Demand Drivers

  • Shift toward high-end, custom home renovations.
  • Increased demand for professional 'white-glove' installation.
  • Growth in affluent residential housing developments.
[dynamic_pic9]

What does this franchise unit offer, and why is its solution meaningfully better than local alternatives?

This unit offers a curated, mobile showroom experience that brings the store to the customer's living room. By eliminating the overhead of a physical storefront, we provide better value and more personalized attention than traditional retail competitors.

Competitive Advantages

  • Mobile showroom with premium brand samples.
  • On-site expert measurements and design consultations.
  • Integrated smart-home automation for window treatments.
[dynamic_pic10]

Who buys from this franchise unit, and how big is the local opportunity?

The target audience consists of affluent homeowners and busy professionals who value convenience and high-quality aesthetics. With Year 1 revenue projected at $690,000 and scaling to over $1.6M by Year 5, the local opportunity is significant in tech-heavy and luxury residential areas.

Target Segments and Size

  • Projected $225,000 in Year 1 blinds sales.
  • Affluent homeowners in custom-built residential corridors.
  • Tech-savvy residents seeking smart-home automation solutions.
[dynamic_pic11]

How does this franchise unit make money, and what are the core revenue streams and unit economics?

Revenue flows from four main channels: blinds, shades/shutters, smart-home automation, and professional installation fees. Here's the quick math: with EBITDA starting at $272,000 in Year 1, the low-overhead mobile model allows for strong store-level margins early on.

Revenue and Margin Drivers

  • Blinds and shades sales (primary revenue).
  • High-margin smart home automation integration ($45k Year 1).
  • Low COGS with materials averaging 11% of sales.
[dynamic_pic12]

Who are the main local competitors, and what is this franchise unit's defensible edge?

Main competitors include big-box home improvement stores and small independent installers. Our defensible edge is the combination of a national brand's supply chain and a localized, white-glove service model that big retailers simply cannot replicate at scale.

Defensible Moat

  • Exclusive referral agreements with custom home builders.
  • Proprietary smart-home installation expertise and tools.
  • Strong word-of-mouth through high-end interior design alliances.
[dynamic_pic13]

How much funding is required, and what milestones will that unlock?

The initial startup requires a $67,500 franchise fee and $35,000 for a mobile showroom vehicle. These funds unlock a business that reaches breakeven by April 2026, just four months after launch, with a clear path to $1.6M in annual revenue by Year 5.

Funding and Milestones

  • $118,000 total initial capital for key assets.
  • Breakeven milestone achieved in Month 4 (April 2026).
  • Scaling to $931,000 annual EBITDA by Year 5.

Lightweight divider that works well for video call backgrounds
Size: 1 Panel
This divider works fine for what it is, but it’s definitely on the lightweight side. Setup was very easy and only took a few minutes. The frame is fairly light, so it’s easy to move around or reposition if needed. That said, the tradeoff is that it’s not especially sturdy. It stands fine on its own but I wouldn’t expect it to handle much bumping or movement. I mainly bought it to use as a background for Zoom calls when I’m working from my den, and for that purpose it works great. The fabric panel blocks the room behind me and gives a cleaner background on camera. It’s not huge though. To keep the camera from seeing around it, I have to position it directly behind my chair. If you’re expecting it to divide a large room or create a big privacy barrier, it may feel a bit small. Overall, it does the job and works well for temporary setups or video call backgrounds, but the lightweight frame keeps it from feeling like a premium divider. The product description and photos are accurate.

Sent Wrong Pieces
Size: 1 Panel, Size: 1 Panel
I really, really wanted to like this - and, in theory, I really, really should have! The instructions were easy to follow and assembly took about five minutes. The assembled screen is lightweight and easy to move. It was a great size and exactly what I was looking for except....I wasn't sent the correct pieces. Instead of receiving 4 elbow pieces and 4 feet, I received 2 elbow pieces and 8 feet - meaning that the bottom part of the fabric just hangs there and, overall, the divider is extremely unstable because there is no horizontal support on the bottom. Thankfully, there are Velcro tabs on the side of the fabric so I can use it if I don't plan to move it even 1 cm, but otherwise, what I received is not usable for what I needed it for. Additionally, the fabric is made of polyester and catches animal hair very easily. Had I received the correct pieces, this would be a good buy for the money. Unfortunately, overall, I'm disappointed.

Works great, keeps the light out of my eyes and easy to put together
Size: 1 Panel, Size: 1 Panel
I got this room divider in and it works great. It’s really easy to put together you don’t even need tools. I really like that it’s not see through, it’s not a black out curtain but it keeps light out pretty good. I absolutely hate my bedroom layout there’s no bathroom door. My girlfriend and I have different work schedules so I’m trying to sleep while she’s getting ready for work and the light shines right in my eyes. This divider keeps the light out of my eyes and that’s exactly what I was hunting for. I also like that you can adjust the length. I took one of the bars out to make it a little shorter and it worked great. I would recommend this room divider.

Good product, poor directions.
Color: Black, Size: B-88''W-4 Panel
The quality of the product was better than most at this price. The directions could have been much better even though I have an engineering background.

Nice partition for my basement
Color: Beige, Size: B-102''-3 Panel
This 3-panel room divider showed up well-packaged with all the parts and even a little tool for putting it together. The instructions were easy to follow, and while one person can definitely assemble it, having two makes it quicker and less frustrating. It does exactly what I needed—gives quick, easy coverage in an open area. I'm using it in my basement to hide the furnace and water heater, and it works great for that. It looks nice overall, but I picked the beige fabric (which is really more of a tan), and the black frame makes it stand out more than I’d like. A white or lighter frame would’ve blended better. Not sure that I would use it anywhere besides the basement It’s lightweight and pretty sturdy. The wheels make it easy to move, but it does get a bit wobbly, and the panel clips need to be readjusted every time you roll it somewhere new. Still, for the price, it’s a solid buy. I’m happy with it and planning to order another one.
