Black Sweat Records present a reissue of I.P. Son Group's self-titled album, originally released in 1975. Released in 1975, during the mature stage of the Italian underground scene, this only album from the Milanese band led by guitarist Marco Rossi comes off as an experiment rather atypical of that period; The typical jazz sound of that period being exemplified by formations such as Perigeo, Napoli Centrale, Agora, or Arti e Mestieri. I.P. Son Group provide improvisations on suggestions of extra-European ethnic flavor, enhanced by the masterful rhythmic section (without drums) curated by the African percussionists Nick Eyok and Mohammed El Targhi. The result is a complex work, full of nuances, in which the spirit of the free-jam excels on the synthesis of influences and visions. Refined guitar riffs revealing strong blues roots blend with the elements and moods of the most markedly spiritual and exotic free-jazz (Pharoah Sanders, Alice Coltrane or Archie Shepp). Winds are perfumed of the Middle East flow as distant echoes with ideas of tribal rhythms that draw both from the rhythms of the northern Sahara as well as more Afro-beat rituals of Yoruba ancestry. In the background, the poetic persistence of intercultural exchange that approaches the I.P. Son Group is paralleled by projects such as Aktuala, Arica or John Berberian. This reissued edition is enriched with an amazing photo booklet by Aldo Bonasia.

Great lights, terrible assembly
Just got these and ran one night, lots to love about these: very high-quality and sturdy construction. Huge solar panel compared to every other solar light I've used or seen. Seems like high quality powder coated finish and everything fit together great (except see below). I would have given this 5 stars except for the facts that 1) the threading of the screw for the spike to stake assembly is total crap. The threads got messed up when they cut the parts and they didn't bother to recut the threads. It took me no less than about 15 minutes of frustration per light to get the damn things to thread together. Only 1 out of 9 lights easily thread together like you'd expect and 1 cross threaded and would not go together. For $80 a piece you'd expect perfection. 2) So. Many. Screws. Granted you get the benefit of a 3 part stake to adjust the height but it takes 6 screws to just assemble the thing. Need to change the battery? NINE, yes 9 screws to get at the battery. Also, the screws are soft and easy to strip so take great care not to over tighten. So I'd recommend the light based on the quality and performance, just prepare yourself for a frustrating assembly and battery change when the time comes.

Over two years and works great
I’m happy with the light, works great, easy to clean and wipe down, lasts thru most of the night.
It gets great sun in our coastal yard for 6-8 hours and when it’s cloudy it still works decently

Worth Every Penny
Color: Black 1-Pack
Outstanding quality. It does require some muscle to assemble and install. The corkscrew spike is big and goes into the ground more than a foot but that is great because it is securely anchored. Beautiful 2700K light that stays on all night at HIGH setting. Time will tell how it takes Florida weather.

Nice solar light

The Gama Sonic solar lights are the best, finally a solar light that stays on all night. I was tired buying the cheap solar lights and replacing them almost yearly and finally invested in the Gama Sonic lights. This is a quality built light I hope will last.
