What You'll Learn:

In this hands-on pattern cutting 2 day course, you'll discover the two essential techniques that underpin all flat pattern making:
Dart manipulation - the secret to shaping patterns to fit your body
Cut and spread - for adding flare, fullness, and creative detail

Together, we’ll experiment with these methods to develop original pattern designs from your own basic blocks. Whether it’s a new dress, top, skirt or something completely unique, you’ll explore new design possibilities in a relaxed, inspiring environment.

You’ll also combine elements of flat pattern cutting and draping to push your creativity even further. This is all about designing as you go, playing with fabric shapes, and learning how to make patterns that reflect your personal style.

Who is it for?

This workshop is for Confident Beginner dressmakers who may already have a set of basic blocks (bodice, skirt or trouser) and want to learn creative pattern development. But if you don't have a set of blocks you can use the ones we have that are closest to your own measurements. 

You’ll need to bring a simple idea or two of what you want to create - we’ll help you develop it into something wearable and unique.
