Belgian musician Dijf Sanders pens and produces soundtracks for distant, far-flung places that brood with exotica, psychedelia, jazz, and electronica. His new album Java is a psychedelic and modern search for the sounds of the homonymous Indonesian island. Armed with a set of field recorders, Dijf traveled to every urban and rural corner of Indonesia in the spring of 2017. As a contemporary incarnation of ethnomusicologist Alan Lomax, he collected an impressive repertory of recordings, commissioned by the Europalia Arts Festival and KAAP Creative Compass. "Kacapi", "Kendang", "Angklung", "Calung", or "Gamelan" are not the names of indigenous tropical diseases by the way, but those of local instruments that Dijf encountered on his adventurous musical quest. For two weeks the American expert ethnographer Palmer Keen stood by Dijf through his total immersion into the island's colorful culture and rich, ceremonial traditions. On his return to Belgium, Dijf headed straight back into the studio with the gathered material and invited some of his musical soulmates to put the icing on the cake. It is no coincidence that the three guests - Nathan Daems, Filip Vandebril, and Simon Segers - are all part of Black Flower, a band that famously flirts with oriental sounds. From hours and hours of field recordings, Dijf distilled ten psychedelic pieces which ride on waves of ecstasy and trance, and bridge the gap between two worlds. Tribal rhythms and warm melodies are fused to a seamless and beautiful musical work in utopia. The Brugge-born, Gentbrugge-based musician is one of those great Flemish talents. In the past, he earned his stripes with Teddiedrum and The Violent Husbands and has produced bands like Kenji Minogue and Blackie & The Oohoos. He has also released music under his own name including the critically acclaimed album Moonlit Planetarium (2016). Welcome to Dijf Sanders's wonderful journey into future exotica. Organization is key for any shop space. This goes double for smaller shops. If you look around and DON'T see something that could benefit from getting off the floor and onto a peg or hook, I applaud you! For the rest of us, where can we get started? Here you go.
These hooks come two in a package. The quality of these are easy to see. The powder coating is very nice as powder coating is more durable than paint. The orange plastic coating on the hooks feels thick and durable. Assembly is easy. There's a threaded post sticking out of the black rubber coated magnet "puck" that you insert into a opening on the hook and secure with washers and a nut. I like that they included both a washer and locking washer. If it matters, I always stack the fastener in the following order: washer, locking washer, then nut. Using a 14mm socket, I was done in no time.
How's much will these hooks hold? The magnetic power on these hooks feels substantial. When I slowly approached the side of my metal toolbox, the magnet made an audible snap when it magnetized to the side. It felt strong! The bend at the base of the hook added stability pressing against the toolbox but didn't mark the surface since it was covered by plastic. It held my heavy 50a extension cable and the other hook held both my 25' and 50' pressure washer hoses. Neither moved at all and felt very secure.
Whether your shop is your garage or basement, making the most of your space makes a difference and these can help. These are very strong and hold items safely. I'm very happy having these around and will be getting more. If you have a metal surface that you can attach hooks, give these a try. It's a quality solution!

Wow when they describe these magnets as “super string” they are not joking! Magnets are so strong you must be careful when placing them on your metal cabinet, lest it pinch your finger when the magnet grabs the metal!
This is an awesome product. The hooks have a hole in their base that fits over a threaded post / bolt coming out of the center of the magnet and the kit comes with two washers, lock washers, and bolts to attach the hooks to the magnets. Takes about one minute per magnet to assemble. Once on the wall they feel like they will hold a lot of weight though I did not try to test the upper limit. No problem at all holding yard tools and the like. The hooks or arms have a nice rubberized coating and extend about 4.5” out from the wall. At $15 each these seemed a little pricy but wow what a great solution for hanging things on metal walls. They work so well I will be buying more of these! I actually have some other similar very strong round magnets made for a similar purpose … but they do not have the “built-in” hooks like these do and it makes a big difference for the usefulness! These are so strong and bigger than I thought they would be in a positive way the price is good for the product. You can take them and put them wherever you need to. They can go on a fridge or transfer to anything magnetic, can go anywhere. These are a need in the home.
