After retirement from the CB&Q, the train passed through the hands of several private owners (1960-2020) who had big dreams, but did little in the way of restoration. In 2020, the Mark Twain Zephyr was purchased by the Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad, who is restoring the train to full operating condition at their shops in Northwest Wisconsin. This book by Kandace & Robert Tabern, with Dave Lotz, follows the Mark Twain Zephyr's history year-by-year. Exclusive photos and interviews with the children of the original owners are presented. Covered in this SECOND VOLUME is the train's history when it was operated by the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad from 1935 to 1958. Learn about the many routes the train served over the years.
