Anderton & Rowland are one of the most famous and oldest names in Showman history, established in the West Country in the mid 1850s by Albert H Haslem, a variety artist, who teamed up with Professor Anderson, a conjuror. After the Professor's death, Albert took on the stage name of Professor Anderton and toured the company with his magic show, eventually becoming Anderton & Rowland.
The manufacturers Charles Burrell and Sons of Thetford were well known for their steam engines and agricultural machinery, exporting all over the world. The company, which had its heyday towards the end of the 19th Century, finally closed in 1928, having made over 5000 steam vehicles from their Norfolk base.
The intricately detailed model in crimson and gold with a white roof and registered CO 4485 would have been used to power the Anderton & Rowland 'Golden Dragons' ride, inscribed along one side just below the roof, while on the other side the lettering states it as being 'The Pride of the Fens'. You can also see the vehicle name 'Dragon' printed just off centre on the main body of the locomotive. Some interesting printing on the front of the locomotive identifies it as being The Burrell Locomotive and round the edge is the name of W Chamberlin, Amusements Caterers, who must have had a finger in the pie somewhere in the business!

Airedale tough!
Color: Rubber Chew Toy, Size: Large
We have two young Airedale Terriers and I thought this would be a good inside toy for them to tug. And I was right! Very happily so. I have to admit I was surprised when I first saw it; it seemed so small. But the thing stretches and springs back to shape. We’ve had it about 2 weeks now and it is constantly played with. Absolutely the best toy! Very interactive either alone (it rolls) or with us or they play together. I am surprised how tough it is with all the constant rough play. Highly recommend!!!

Small, but twisty and fun looking. Seems relatively sturdy, though doesn't look indestructible at all.
Color: Rubber Chew Toy, Size: Large
SLIGHTLY disappointed because I thought this was bigger than it is. If you squish it all in close, it's maybe one and a half times the size of a tennis ball. (Of course, the size is probably listed; I think I just assumed, so my fault.) That being said, it's entertainingly twisty and squishy, though the rubber seems relatively sturdy. I'm not yet positive if it will hold up to the 8 month retriever/lab mix it's intended for; he tends to rip instantly through anything much less sturdy than kong natural rubber. But it seems like something that will amuse him, so we're going to give it a shot at Christmas.

Great product!
Color: Rubber Chew Toy, Size: Large
My dog is an aggressive chewer. I have bought this 3 times for her she loves to play tug and fetch with it. They last longer than most of the other toys I get her and it’s one of her favorites.

It’s okay I guess
Color: Rubber Chew Toy, Size: Large
Good price and decent toy, seems well made. My puppy is entirely uninterested and doesn’t play with it at all.

Very dangerous for chewers!!!
Color: Rubber Chew Toy, Size: Large
My dog was chewing/swallowing the hard rubber within seconds of having this "toy"!!! Not safe, sturdy, no play attraction; only desire was to consume!!!
