In San Francisco, the "instant city" of the gold rush days, Jews were pioneers among pioneers. Some came as immigrants directly from Europe, others as resettled adventurers from the East Coast, and still others as scions of southern Sephardic families. Out of this mixed multitude emerged a community with synagogues and institutions to care for the needy and the sick, along with a dignified social fabric. New immigrants following the Russian pogroms of 1883 were absorbed, and the ashen ruins from the 1906 earthquake were rebuilt. The city's cultural treasures and social needs were enriched, and the city's Jews were nurtured by civic commitments. Today's 70,000 San Francisco Jews, standing upon the shoulders of pioneering giants, continue to build and rebuild.Binding Type: Paperback

Dark Grey color is more like brownish purple
Size: XX-Large, Color: Dark Grey
The fit, comfort and value is good. The color is not as described; they are not "Dark Grey" as described. Imagine UPS delivery driver brown, but faded. They are what I can best describe as purplish brown. Definitely not the color I was looking for.

Classic wardrobe basic
Size: X-Large, Color: Black, Size: X-Large, Color: Black
Great fit and a nice lightweight fabric. The elastic in the back helps it fit a woman's curves just fine, and because these are men's shorts, they have nice deep pockets in the front. A little longer than I thought they would be, but that just means they're a modest basic look. On the whole, a good value for the money, reasonable quality.

solid old style docs construction
i am a medium to wide-ish 7.5 in women's, that typically wears an 8 for room. these fit like a wider, roomy 8.5 women's. that is fine because i intend to wear them with thicker socks and for long walks.they are immediately comfortable, and do not feel like they will have the typical brutal break in period. very stable and fitted around the ankle, yet not impossible to pull on and off.
they are so handsome, and meet my expectations.
