Not only does this release celebrate the female voice, but also some largely forgotten female composers. Luzzaschi's Madrigali a uno, due e tre soprano of 1601 represents the sole surviving publication of a unique and highly important repertoire; that of the much famed singing ladies (concerto delle donne) of Ferrara. By the 1580s the Duke of Ferrara, Alfonso II, had become so obsessed with the sound of soprano voices, that he was procuring the finest singers of the time and establishing them in his court for his musica secreta, or secret music. It is among the most vocally challenging music surviving, and attests to high quality of vocal training in the sixteenth century. It is something of a miracle that even one copy of the original publication survived. In an age when singer/composers were relatively common, no single woman had as much of her music published as Barbara Strozzi. She led a remarkable life and one most unusual for a woman in Venice in 1619. Her father, poet Giulio Strozzi, was at the centre of the cultural and intellectual life in Venice and through him she was able to partake of that life. Between 1644 and 1664 Barbara Strozzi published 8 books of vocal music. By far the majority of this output is for solo soprano, but just how successful she was is unknown. After her final publication in 1664 nothing more is known of her. As she wrote herself in the dedication to her opus 5: "Since I am no more held back by feminine weakness than by any allowance made for my sex, I fly on lightest leaves in devotion to make my bow."

Stable and Easy-to-Use Umbrella Stand
Size: 1-Piece, Color: Black
💧 Water-Filled Design
The ability to fill it with water makes it lightweight to move around when empty but very stable and heavy once filled. It holds the umbrella securely without tipping, even on windy days.
⚙️ Build & Compatibility
The stand feels sturdy, made from durable plastic, and the black color is neutral and fits well with most outdoor decor. It fits standard umbrella poles nicely, and the tightening mechanism is easy to use and keeps the pole firmly in place.
🚚 Portability & Setup
It was easy to set up — just fill with water (or sand if you want extra weight) and insert the umbrella. I like that it’s less heavy than concrete bases but still very effective.
✅ Pros:
Lightweight when empty, easy to move
Very stable when filled with water
Simple to use and adjust
Durable plastic design
Fits most standard umbrella poles
❌ Cons:
Needs regular refilling if you use water (can leak slowly)
Plastic may show scratches over time

Avoid at all costs. Rusty and not stable. Confusing customer service.
Size: 1-Piece, Color: Black, Size: 1-Piece, Color: Black
Do not buy!!! Cheap product and bad customer service! The product is rusted upon delivery. It is not stable and will not hold an umbrella rated for 22lb stand upright with water alone. They wanted me to refill the stand and send them pictures of the tilt even though the rust should warrant a full refund with shipping covered, if they were a good company. The company is giving me the run around on a return and conflicting information. They said they I would have to pay for the return, then that they would, then and try keep trying to offer me a discounted rate and charging me shipping. Here is a copy of the communication. They offered $10 telling me that rust is not covered in their warranty, even if it arrived rusty!
First message: "After the returned item is delivered to our warehouse with no issue, we will return your amount."
Second message: "Generally, rust can be caused by many factors and is not typically covered under our warranty. However, as a valued customer, we’d like to offer you a USD 10 price return if you choose to keep and continue using the base as it is.
Please let us know if this solution works for you, and we will process it right away."
