This massive Tibetan prayer banner is double imprinted with the image of Green Tara. Green Tara is believed to have originated from the tears of compassion shed by the Buddha Avalokiteshvara. According to legend, she was once a princess who vowed to always be reborn as a woman until all beings are free from suffering.
She is known as the Mother of all Buddhas, as she is the embodiment of the wisdom and compassion of all the Buddhas. These flags are especially good to hang to counter the effects of fear. Green Tara is often associated with protection and the granting of wishes, and her mantra is "Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha".
Tara flags are hung for a variety of reasons which include praying for peace, healing the sick well as reducing the eight great and sixteen lesser fears.
This massive singular poly silk flag is intended for hanging on a pole vertically however, it could also be hung on a wall. It is very detailed and quite remarkable in size.
Prayer flags are traditionally hung outside, under eaves of houses, in trees, between buildings, hills, or across rivers but can also be hung inside. Our prayer flags are wonderful for purification of the environment and for uplifting the minds of all beings. Hang them everywhere.
• Approximately 28in x 50 1/2in
