• ECO-FRIENDLY- Ornaments are made from recycled steel. Each ornament’s surface may vary some from pictured due to the natural variability in steel. The recycled nature of metal gives unique characteristics to each sheet of steel such as areas with darker marks, slight color variations, and differences in level of shine.

• DURABLE AND LONG LASTING - Each metal ornament is CNC cut from sturdy (thickness of a nickel) hot rolled steel and left as bare steel for a natural metal look. Beautiful & UNBREAKABLE!

• DARK GREY COLOR - Our metal ornaments naturally appear dark grey in color but can appear brighter or darker with different lighting and backgrounds.

• SMOOTH EDGES; TUMBLED SURFACE; RUSTIC FINISH - All ornaments are tumbled to help smooth edges and create a rustic, tumbled finish.

• TRULY UNIQUE - Original designs created by our family & only available from Burke Metal Work.

• AMERICAN MADE - From the steel to the finished product, it's all made in the USA.

• PERSONALIZE - Make it extra special by adding text with engraving (see below for more details).

• RIBBON included - Color of ribbon may vary (red, green, white, gold etc or subject to change based on availability).

Choose to customize your ornament by adding text with engraving. Our engraving tool burns a white color into the metal creating a beautiful and permanent mark. Please note that character max varies per design. Some ornament designs have a very limited area where the text can be added. This may result in very small text size and/or a limited number of characters possible.

The location of the engraving will depend on the amount of characters and where they fit best on the ornament. We will use our creativity to do our best at placing your text on the ornament so that it looks amazing and will adjust size and angle as needed. In many cases we will need to be creative with placement and place names and dates in different areas. Font as pictured. Text will be added to the front side only.

Please note that our raw steel ornaments have a natural finish and are free of any added coatings. Therefore they will develop a beautiful rust patina if exposed to moisture. If you wish to minimize this process please keep your ornaments indoors in a low humidity environment. Applying a clear coat of paint or even a fun color can also prevent the rustic patina or just provide a fun, new look to your ornament.

Air and space
Format: Hardcover
I bought this book for my friend who was scheduled to see the Smithsonian Air and Space museum when he broke his hand. Sadly he wasn’t able to go to the museum but absolutely loved this book I bought him! It has so many things the museum has in it. If you or a friend cannot make it down to DC this is definitely a must buy!!!

Great Annotated Aircraft Encyclopedia
Format: Hardcover
This book was a gift for my husband who is an aircraft fanatic. We live near an airbase, which is now out of commission, but in the past, there was an aircraft museum with information about aircraft, which fascinated my husband. This book was a great surprise for him because it is not just full of pictures, but also includes text about the history, building, and uses of each aircraft.

Great Guide to the National Air & Space Museum
I recently visited the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum. It was the first time I'd been there since they moved into their current facility in the mid-1970's. It was breathtaking. The best way to describe the effect of walking in the main entrance is to envision the bedroom of a boy who hangs model airplanes from the ceiling. Only at the NASM, the "models" hanging from the ceiling are full-size. I was a model-building boy in the 1950's, and my favorites were planes I'd built from kits. Unfortunately, the museum was undergoing some of its regular updating and a few of my favorite planes weren't on view, such as the F89 Super Saber. Fortunately, that plane and most (if not all) the permanent collection are profiled in the Best of the National Air and Space Museum. If at all possible, visit the museum. If you can't get there, buy the book. Actually, buy the book in either case. You won't be disappointed.

The Air & Space Museum is a national treasure.
Format: Hardcover
This is one of those books that makes you wish you were there. Lots of pictures and tidbits of information. A good quality book physically as well. We get their magazine and this is one of many books we have both from and about the museum. Highly Recommended.

Great photo essay, history of aviation and space
i'm an engineer- worked rocket motors, and various satellite programs. this book was recommended by associate after visiting the museum at Langley. The pics are super, with short descriptions, and moderate on the tech. It's an amazing pulse of this wild history, and mostly is from America's lineage. St. Louis, Mercury, Atlas, and up to current Shuttle. There's also the SST, and unique turn of the century early birds. A fine read to be shared with a youngster (my son 10, digs it), or for the history or engineering buff. amazon has it cheaper than at the museum.
