The Indian World of George Washington: The First President, the First Americans, and the Birth of the NationGeorge Washington's place in the foundations of the Republic remains unrivalled. His life story from his beginnings as a surveyor and farmer, to colonial soldier in the Virginia Regiment, leader of the Patriot cause, commander of the Continental Army, and finally first president of the United States reflects the narrative of the nation he guided into existence. There is, rightfully, no more chronicled figure. Yet American history has largely forgotten

George Washington's place in the foundations of the Republic remains unrivalled. His life story--from his beginnings as a surveyor and farmer, to colonial soldier in the Virginia Regiment, leader of the Patriot cause, commander of the Continental Army, and finally first president of the United States--reflects the narrative of the nation he guided into existence. There is, rightfully, no more chronicled figure.

Yet American history has largely forgotten what Washington himself knew clearly: that the new Republic's fate depended less on grand rhetoric of independence and self-governance and more on land--Indian land. Colin G. Calloway's biography of the greatest founding father reveals in full the relationship between Washington and the Native leaders he dealt with intimately across the decades: Shingas, Tanaghrisson, Guyasuta, Attakullakulla, Bloody Fellow, Joseph Brant, Cornplanter, Red Jacket, and Little Turtle, among many others. Using the prism of Washington's life to bring focus to these figures and the tribes they represented--the Iroquois Confederacy, Lenape, Miami, Creek, Delaware--Calloway reveals how central their role truly was in Washington's, and therefore the nation's, foundational narrative.

Calloway gives the First Americans their due, revealing the full extent and complexity of the relationships between the man who rose to become the nation's most powerful figure and those whose power and dominion declined in almost equal degree during his lifetime. His book invites us to look at America's origins in a new light. The Indian World of George Washington is a brilliant portrait of both the most revered man in American history and those whose story during the tumultuous century in which the country was formed has, until now, been only partially told.

Would buy again
Color: White, Size: Standard (Pack of 2)
This is a good pillow if you like them firm and thin. I let them sit out for 2 days (per instructions). After having them a week, they've perked up and became more full. I guess they just need time after being in the air. They are softer now but your head doesn't sink thru it. They are actually nice and soft to the touch as well.

On the thin side....
Color: White, Size: King (Pack of 2)
These are described as "high loft" and "supportive", but they are fairly thin/flat and very soft.

Great Support; not too Soft.
Color: White, Size: Standard (Pack of 2)
These are extremely comfortable pillows. I bought them for my every-night use, and they have not disappointed me. They provide great support for one’s head. They mold around one’s neck foot just turn perfect amount of support without being extremely soft. They hold their original manufactured shape easily.

Great Mattress for Everyday Use
Item Firmness Description: Medium Firm, Item Thickness: 6.0 Inches, Size: Twin, Item Firmness Description: Medium Firm, Item Thickness: 6.0 Inches, Size: Twin
I’ve been sleeping on this mattress for a few days now, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with it. It has that wonderfully soft, memory foam feel that I love, but it also provides just the right amount of support to keep my body comfortable all night long. I usually sleep on my side, and sometimes on my back, and I find that it feels great in both positions—no more waking up with a sore back, which is such a relief. What really surprised me is how cool it stays during the night. I’ve used memory foam mattresses before that made me sweat, but this one has a noticeable cooling effect that actually works better than I expected. It stays comfortable all night, no matter how much I toss and turn. Plus, it absorbs movement really well, so if my partner shifts around or I move in my sleep, it doesn’t disturb me at all. Setting it up was super easy—the mattress expanded quickly after I took it out of the box. There was a small foam smell at first, but it vanished pretty fast. Overall, it’s comfortable, supportive, and feels like a great value. If you’re looking for a mattress that strikes a good balance between softness and support, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a try.
