Description

Sorted into Time Order1. The book is the story of my life, from 1947 until 2025. It details my education, military, and time as a high school teacher. Moreover, it is reflectives, introspective, and as truthful as an autobiography can be. Specifically, I address my foibles, excuses, and rationalizations, while being careful not to make it appear as if I'm fishing for compliments. 2. The format of the book is unique, in that I tell the story in art, poetry, and prose.

Specifically, I address my foibles, excuses, and rationalizations, while being careful not to make it appear as if I'm fishing for compliments.

 2. The format of the book is unique, in that I tell the story in art, poetry, and prose. Furthermore, every drawing and word of the story comes from my hand, and covers the second half of the 20th century, and the first quarter of the 21st century. It is perhaps interesting because it is a raw account of a baby boomer, negotiating the schools, military, and social systems of the time.

 3. It is relevant because the account of my journey, with all its twists and turns, is similar to the struggles of other boomers, with lessons that even apply to young people coming up today. It is relevant because of the attempt at honesty in facing the truth about yourself, your motivations, your goals - it is relevant because those things are necessary for real personal growth.

 4. My book is unique because the story is told in poetry, art, and prose narratives. Furthermore, there is a smattering of history, opinion, and humor.

a. If you find yourself in a good situation, take advantage of it.

b. Don't worry about your weakness, rather concentrate on what you're good at.

c. Try to be realistic and honest in your motivations and actions.

d. Don't make mistakes on purpose.

e. Sometimes the most important skill is just showing up - be available.

f. Pick your fights. Ask yourself if you want to die on that mountain.

g. Sometimes you are wrong, so admit it

h. Sometimes you lose and sometimes you win. Move on.

Life's Lessons
Format: Hardcover
This is such a delightful story that every child can relate to in the little mishaps of life. It brought a smile to my face as I pictured "Grandpa" offering comfort and encouragement. It is a lesson for all ages and bigger problems in life as well...."Don't Worry, Stay Happy." Thank you, Nicole, for sharing your story.

Definitely recommend this!
Format: Kindle
This is a wonderfully written and beautifully illustrated story about a boy teaching others to be kind. There are many examples of being kind with even more suggestions at the end of the book. We ALL need to be kind to others because the world is a better place to be if we respect others and are nice to them. Being mean or selfish diminishes us and makes the world more inhospitable.
