While living in Paris, I studied the Old Masters. Although nature always inspired me in a very general sense, my fine art studies helped me focus more on the subtle details. I noticed the poppies in Monet’s paintings because they made me feel a sense of nostalgia for the springtime in Israel when I would go out and collect bunches to bring home as a child. We would celebrate “Dorom Adom” by filling our homes with vases of red flowers. These are the flowers of my youth.
