The Pulsar Merger XP35 LRF are classic thermal binoculars with amazing performance. From the F35/1.0 germanium lens on the front through the microbolometer with 640x480 resolution and <25mK NETD sensitivity, then with the image being processed by the updateable image processor through to the two HD AMOLED displays, everything about the Pulsar Merger is designed to give you excellent image quality.
The 2 to 16 magnification of the Pulsar Merger XP35 LRF gives a nice wide field of view on the base magnification with greater magnification higher up the range - or both at the same time if you are using picture in picture. In the Merger you have a selection of eight colour palettes available so you can choose something which suits your eyes. You can choose to look directly through the binoculars or use the free Streamvision app to view through a phone or tablet - or share your vision with a friend. You can record both photos and videos for later viewing. The Merger binoculars utilise both 2.4ghz and 5ghz frequencies for maximum reliability in communications. The Streamvision app is available in iOS and Android operating systems on both Google Play and the App Store.
The detection range of the Merger thermal binoculars is 1,350 metres (an upright 1.8 metre, 80kg man) with the Laser Range Finder offering accuracy out to 1,000 metres. Knowing the distance to what you are observing is essential for assessing size of objects, so the one kilometre LRF is very handy with it's single measurement and continuous scanning modes.
Pulsar has used everything they know about thermal imaging in the Merger thermal binoculars. The body is made from reinforced magnesium alloy which means your binoculars are physically up to the task at hand, all while the heatsinking capabilities of such a body provides a more consistent image. The slim magnesium body houses two rechargeable batteries, one built in and one removable to give you up to 10 hours of battery life. The nature and shape of the removable battery means you can change it in complete darkness by touch. The body is rated IPX7 meaning you are protected from flash storms, heavy rain, dew or even snow. That said the unit will work in snow, the operating range is from minus 25 degrees to 50 degrees celsius.
Classic design. Compact size
Merger LRF thermal imaging binoculars are built with the classic design of daytime binoculars. With a small form factor, these thermal imaging binoculars fit comfortably in the hand, but still offer appealing external aesthetics and exemplary ergonomics. The six function buttons are placed in the comfort access zone and the most used digital device functions are activated with a single touch.
Comfortable viewing experience
The Merger LRF binoculars’ optical design fully takes into account the nature of human vision. It is natural for a person to receive visual information through two visual channels simultaneously. Viewing with two eyes is less tiring than viewing with one. This means better detection of small or faint objects, and better performance in low-contrast scenarios than similar monocular thermal imaging devices with the same technical level. The interpupillary distance in the Merger LRF binoculars is adjustable from 62 to 74 mm in accordance with the individual characteristics of a particular user.
Precise laser rangefinder
Understanding the detection distance is an essential factor in making the right decisions. A built-in laser rangefinder with a range of up to 1 kilometre allows you to measure distances in single measurements and continuous scanning modes with an accuracy of ± 1 meters for quick and error-free assessment of the situation.
High definition thermal imaging with 640x480 pixel @ < 25 mK NETD sensor
A high sensitivity sensor with < 25 mK NETD captures minimal temperature differences when observing in conditions of low temperature contrast, as well as during rain or fog. The 640x480 pixel resolution ensures reliable identification of the target, high-quality visualisation of important anatomical features of the animal plus minute details of the surrounding landscape.
Fast aperture F35/1.0 germanium lens
The characteristics of thermal imaging optics have a decisive influence on a thermal imager’s ability to capture even the lowest radiation levels. Ultimate detection efficiency is achieved with the fast lens of the Merger LRF (F35/1.0) thermal imager in combination with the highly sensitive thermal sensor. The Merger LRF gives users the best quality, most detailed & high-contrast, informative imagery every time, even during rain or fog, when the temperature contrast of the observed scene is minimal.
Latest image processing algorithms
The Merger LRF thermal imaging binoculars are equipped with very advanced image processing algorithms that show their effectiveness under different weather conditions and device operation scenarios. With the Merger LRF eyepieces, the user receives a new level of clear and noise-free imaging, with increased object details and improved contrast.
User mode
Use the brightness and contrast adjustments to maximise the detail and informative value of the image in specific observation conditions. The User Mode function saves selected brightness and contrast settings in the device's memory providing optimal image quality for the next use of the thermal imager immediately, with no additional adjustments needed.
Two independent batteries. Up to 10 hours of continuous work
The Merger LRF is powered with two rechargeable batteries: one built-in with a capacity of 4 Ah, the other replaceable with a capacity of 3.2 Ah. A single charge guarantees up to 10 hours of battery life. The embossment on the body of the replaceable battery for accurate determination of the correct position makes it possible to quickly and confidently replace a flat battery with a new one in complete darkness by touch.
