artist bio
Karl-Axel Gadd was a Swedish artist born on October 20, 1910 in Hunnebostrand.
Gadd studied with Sigfrid Ullman at Valands målarskola (Painting School) from 1937 to 1938 and then under Nils Nilsson from 1938 to 1942. He undertook travel study ain Italy, Switzerland and France. He had solo exhibitions at Olsen's art gallery in Göteborg in 1950 and he participated in numerous group exhibitions during his career.. His work consisted of still life, portraits, landscapes often with coastal scenes in oil or watercolour. Gadd is represented in public collections in Stockholm, Göteborg and Önnestad.
He passed away on aged 86 on September 22, 1997.
