Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: What workloads is the HPE CM6 MU SSD best suited for?
  • A: The CM6 MU SSD is designed for mixed enterprise workloads, including big data analytics, cloud computing, high-performance computing, business intelligence, databases, and virtualization. It provides a balance of high throughput and low latency to support diverse applications in a single array or data center.

  • Q: What does “MU” mean?
  • A: MU stands for Mixed Use. It indicates the drive is engineered to handle a variety of workload types—from read-intensive to write-intensive tasks—providing dependable performance across multiple application domains within enterprise environments.

  • Q: Is this drive compatible with standard PCIe NVMe servers?
  • A: Yes. The HPE CM6 MU SSD uses a 2.5" form factor with U.3 (SFF-8639) PCIe Gen4 NVMe connectivity, suitable for servers and storage systems that support these interfaces. Always verify compatibility with your server firmware, backplane, and storage controllers before deployment.

  • Q: What are the advantages of PCIe Gen4 NVMe in this drive?
  • A: PCIe Gen4 NVMe delivers higher bandwidth, lower latency, and improved parallelism compared to older generations. For mixed-use enterprise workloads, this translates to faster data access, quicker analytics results, and more responsive virtualized environments.

  • Q: How should I monitor and manage the drive to maximize longevity?
  • A: Use SMART data, firmware updates, and vendor management tools to monitor health, heat, and endurance. Regular firmware updates ensure compatibility and may improve performance and reliability. Plan for proper cooling and airflow in dense data-center deployments.

  • Q: What is the expected endurance and warranty for the CM6 MU SSD?
  • A: Endurance and warranty details vary by model and region. For enterprise deployments, expect robust TBW (terabytes written) ratings and a formal warranty from HPE. Always consult your purchase documentation or the supplier’s support resources for exact figures and coverage terms.

Very durable and my Heeler's fave inside toy
Size: Large
My red Heeler loves these balls, second only to Tennis balls but she destroys those within minutes and they are outside only. This is her inside ball. She is hard on toys and has the strongest bite of any dog I've had (shepherds, collies, weimaraners, retrievers, Labs) yet these continue to last. She catches the ball, we play tug of war with it (she places it in hand hand and pulls only when I have a firm grip, she shakes it and flings it. The rubber outside even outlasts the water-bottle like plastic piece inside. Steps holds the ball with her foot and pulls on the rubber with her mouth, stretching it to sometimes twice its size. I pull while shes pulling. This thing gets abused daily and keeps on going. Its the most used toy and she brings it to me to play with every day. Each ball lasts about 6 months before the inside ball is toast and the outer rubber is finally starting to tear/break. which for me in an incredibly long time. If this ball is available to play, she wants it over all others. Shes NEVER gotten a piece off to actually swallow and that alone is worth the price.

Great ball but easily broken
Size: Large
I got this ball for my two dogs, one is a 90 pound yellow lab mix and the other 45 pound black lab mix. So far only my bigger dog has played with it and has also busted it. He was playing with it for probably half an hour just chomping down to make it crinkle and crunch. It's quite the loud ball!! I noticed the sound wasn't as loud so I took a peek and noticed my dog basically crushed the inner ball into a much smaller ball. He's still having a good time with it though. It's only a matter of time though that he's going to chew the outer shell because it doesn't make noise like it did.

Dogs go for this ball every time
Size: Large, Size: Large
My Boston's and Rotti love this ball. I had to get two more. It's great for the Boston's because they can grasp it with the way it's made with the softer rubber. They love the crackle sound. It's just the right size and weight for smaller like the Boston Terrier and Rotti. Easy cleaning, rinses right off.
