“In the fall of 1970, at the New School in Greenwich Village, a new teacher posted a flyer on the wall,” begins Alexander Neubauer’s introduction to this remarkable book. “It read ‘Meet Poets and Poetry, with Pearl London and Guests.’” Few students responded. No one knew Pearl London, the daughter of M. Lincoln Schuster, cofounder of Simon & Schuster. But the seminar’s first guests turned out to be John Ashbery, Adrienne Rich, and Robert Creely. Soon W. S. Merwin followed, then Mark Strand and Galway Kinnell.

London invited poets to bring their drafts to class, to discuss their work in progress and the details of vision and revision that brought a poem to its final version. From Maxine Kumin in 1973 to Eamon Grennan in 1996, including Amy Clampitt, Marilyn Hacker, Paul Muldoon, Nobel laureate Derek Walcott, and U.S. poet laureates Robert Hass, Robert Pinsky, Louise Glück, and Charles Simic, the book follows an extraordinary range of poets as they create their poems and offers numerous illustrations of the original drafts, which bring their processes to light. With James Merrill, London discusses autobiography and subterfuge; with Galway Kinnell, his influential notion that the new nature poem must include the city and not exclude man; with June Jordan, “Poem in Honor of South African Women” and the question of political poetry and its uses. Published here for the first time, the conversations are intimate, funny, irreverent, and deeply revealing. Many of the drafts under discussion—Robert Hass’s “Meditation at Lagunitas,” Edward Hirsch’s “Wild Gratitude,” Robert Pinsky’s “The Want Bone”—turned into seminal works in the poets’ careers.

There has never been a gathering like Poetry in Person, which brings us a wealth of understanding and unparalleled access to poets and their drafts, unraveling how a great poem is actually made.

These are not sized correctly - beware
Color: Blue-ice Plus, Size: King(Pack of 2), Color: Blue-ice Plus, Size: King(Pack of 2)
Edit: I was going to return these pillows but the seller contacted me and offered a full refund due to the size issue without having to send the pillows back. I am happy with this and happy to keep them on a spare queen size bed as they really are nice pillows. Just the wrong size. pros: they are a nice pillow and the cooling feature is really great, and you can adjust to your liking cons: absolutely wrong size. Ordered King, tag says king, all measurements on listing and tag say 20x36, in reality they are more like 20x30. Definitely Queen pillows being sold as King. I did not see any reviews at first about size issues but after I got these and did a search it does look like others have had the same problem. A shame, would have given them a great review if they were the correct size

Really Good Cooling Pillows for Sleeping
Color: Blue-ice Plus, Size: Queen(Pack of 2), Color: Blue-ice Plus, Size: Queen(Pack of 2)
These cooling pillows are very soft and provide excellent support for your head and neck. They are adjustable by taking our the stuffing if you need them to be more flat or less firm. The look great and comes in a pack of two which is a great value. During use, I did notice they have great shape retention and it does not take them long to return to their fluffy full shape. I am a hot sleeper and these do keep your head cool - just be aware using a pillow cover does reduce the cool ability but this allows you to adjust for weather like during winters to add a pillow case for extra warmth. Very happy with this purchase and got a second set to replace my old pillows.

Best frother on the market
This company has the best frothers I have ever used, and I have gone through my fair share of frothers over the years trying to find a good one. I bought this frother as soon as I saw they had an upgraded model, although the older model I was using for the past few years was great too (I now use that frother to mix up my dog's supplements :) ). I have found most frothers to be weak, cheaply made, and eat batteries like candy, even ones rated really well here on Amazon. This one however deserves the great reviews. It is well-made and powerful and the newly added 9 different speeds fixes the "problem" the old one had of being a little too powerful at times. The newly designed stand is definitely a major upgrade. The old one was kinda awkward and would wobble, sometimes falling over when trying to put the frother back in it, but this new one is much sturdier and looks nicer, too. The battery life is also excellent. I can rarely remember the last time I had to charge the frother—it lasts a while. And the new indicator makes it easy to know exactly when it needs a recharging now. I haven't looked at another frother in years since switching to this brand. I can't recommend their frothers enough.

✨Happy with my purchase!
At the time of writing this review, I've had my frother for almost a month now, and I love it! Out of the box, it had a good amount of charge already on it, but I did charged it fully before using. I use it just once a day for my morning coffee fix, and it says I still have 80% charge left. I love that feature. I have used the frothing whisk for coffee, which is fantastic, and the regular wisk for scrambled eggs. It works, but I prefer a hand manual whisk for eggs, because I have more control. Even on the lowest speed, it made the bowl spin WAY too much, and I almost had a mess. No problems like that using the frothing wand for my milk though. The dough hook. I have no idea why a dough hook is part of the package... what would it be useful for, one cookie, one bread roll?? I will never used it. The stand itself works for holding the unit, but the holders for the individual wands could be better. I already snapped the plastic on one of them, but not matter, since I'm not using the dough hook anyway. LOL! All in all, I'm happy with my purchase! It's easy to use and clean. It's a quality built frother, the price is fair, I like the variable speed settings, and I love the fact that it shows how much charge is left. Future product improvements I would recommend: make it waterproof, and lose the useless dough hook.
