The N052-048-1U 48-Port 1U Rack-Mount High-Density 110-Type Patch Panel is engineered to maximize your rack space without sacrificing performance. Condensing 48 ports into a single 1U chassis, this high-density patch panel delivers clean, organized copper connectivity for Cat5/5e networks with 568B termination. Built for durability and designed to simplify cable management in busy data centers, telecom rooms, and network closets, it’s a reliable backbone for enterprise-grade Ethernet deployments in a standard EIA 19-inch rack.

  • Ultra high-density design: 48 ports in just 1U of rack space frees up valuable real estate in crowded racks, letting you scale your network without expanding your footprint. Perfect for data centers, server rooms, and large office deployments that demand efficient cable management and straightforward administration.
  • 110-type termination with 568B standard: RJ45 Ethernet connectivity using 110-type termination blocks aligned to the 568B standard ensures consistent, reliable terminations for Cat5/5e cables and simplifies cross-reference with your existing networks.
  • Rugged, professional build: Crafted from heavy-duty 14-gauge cold-rolled steel, this patch panel is built to withstand the rigors of heavy-use environments, rack vibrations, and repeated patching and re-patching over its long service life.
  • Integrated cable-management loom: A built-in loom helps guide, organize, and secure cables as they enter and exit each port, reducing tangles and improving airflow, cooling efficiency, and accessibility for daily maintenance.
  • Rack-ready, standards-compliant design: engineered for seamless installation in 19-inch EIA racks, compatible with common mounting depths, MERV stringency, and labeling practices—tailored for IT professionals who demand tidy, scalable cabling with easy future expansion.

How to install Tripp Lite by Eaton 48-Port 1U Rack-Mount High-Density Patch Panel

Installing this 48-port patch panel is straightforward and designed to minimize downtime while maximizing cable organization. Follow these steps to achieve a clean, reliable, and scalable network patching solution:

  • Prepare the rack and workspace: Ensure the rack rails are clean, aligned, and ready to receive a 1U panel. Confirm that ample clearance exists for cable management and future expansion. Verify that you have the proper patch cables (Cat5e or better) and labeling materials for port identification.
  • Mount the panel: Secure the patch panel into the 19-inch rack frame using the supplied screws and mounting hardware. Position the panel so that port labeling is easily visible from the front for quick access during maintenance. Maintain proper airflow around the panel to support cooling within the rack.
  • Prepare cables and terminations: Route Cat5e (or higher) cables to the rear of the panel. Trim cables to appropriate lengths with a clean bend radius to avoid damage. Following standard practice, terminate each conductor onto the 110-type block according to the 568B color code, ensuring each port is assigned consistently with your labeling scheme.
  • Manage cables with the loom: Use the built-in cable-management loom to guide and secure cables as they enter the panel. This reduces cable clutter, improves airflow, and makes it easier to identify cables during troubleshooting or upgrades.
  • Label and test: Label ports 1–48 on the panel and in your network management system. Perform end-to-end testing using appropriate test equipment or network tools to verify connectivity, polarity, and throughput. Confirm that each link satisfies your performance requirements and that there are no cross-connections or miswirings.
  • Plan for growth: With 48 ports available in 1U, consider future expansion by planning patching schemes that minimize re-terminations and by reserving key ports for anticipated devices like switches, servers, and storage arrays. Periodically audit the patch panel to maintain organization as your network evolves.

Durable and Rugged
Color: Black
I've had it for a few weeks now. It was a replacement I bought after buying several vinyl type covers. This one is a good gauge of plastic and rubber. The rubber seems pretty strong and it protects the iPad well on the corners and back. The back is mostly covered except for the Apple logo in the center. In addition to protecting the corners and also protects the camera lens as the rubber after insulation is a little bit higher than the lens so when you put this down, it's not going to scratch the lens. It has a pen slot, which I like and plenty of room to grip the device if I'm carrying it from place a place or when I'm using it, I can grip the edge and not touch the screen. One of the things I would've liked included is a screen protector, but nothing covers the screen. I also miss the folio type cover because the screen will gather dust now. But, Apple screens are fairly durable so I'm not too worried about breaking it. It was easy to install. It came in as it came in a couple of pieces that you just pressed together. All the controls are obvious as they are under the rubber, but they look like keys. One more thing I might bring up is the charging port. It's easy to get to even though it's a little deep. On my iPad the touch sensor is on the on off button and it is a little harder to do than if I didn't have any case on it, but that is to be expected. It also has an easel that unfolds from the back if you want to sit it up, but I don't use it for watching anything since I have a real TV set. So far I like it and I'm glad I bought this as I don't think it's going to wear out as quickly from me handling it as the others did. The value was good as long as it lasts.
