A Change is Gonna Come - 24"x24" Light-up PaintingThis painting was inspired by the sun rising over Mt. Hood on January 20th, 2021. At the time, I lived in a high rise apartment and the apartment building had an incredible rooftop patio with views for days. There were often at least a handful of people up there to catch the sunrise. This winter sunrise was particularly spectacular and I felt compelled to capture it. This is a very unique painting! This painting was inspired by the sun rising over Mt. Hood on January 20th, 2021. At the time, I lived in a high-rise apartment and the apartment building had an incredible rooftop patio with views for days. There were often at least a handful of people up there to catch the sunrise. This winter sunrise was particularly spectacular and I felt compelled to capture it.

This is a very unique painting! The foreground is painted on a separate wood panel that is mounted slightly in front of the "background" sky panel. An LED light strip is mounted between the two wood panels; turn the lights on a subtle neon-style glow will illuminate the horizon. These are super cool! Using the included remote, you can choose to have a steady light or to have the light fade between different colors.
This painting was a collaboration with my husband; he cut out out the foreground panel, installed the lights, and mounted the foreground panel to the painting.

Important!: Note the Size. These are TINY Toys.
The most important thing is to double (or triple!) check the size before ordering. I got the lobster, and though it looks small in the photos, it's much tinier in person. The image with the measurements lists in centimeters first, so it's super easy to give it a glance, assume it's in inches, and move on. Despite knowing the size, when I took it out of the package I assumed I was sent the wrong product, as it looks like one of those mini stuffies people hang on their car rearview mirror. Aside from sizing, what you see is what you get and it looks like the photos as far as coloring, material, etc.
