The Dell EMC PERC H745 Controller Adapter is engineered to deliver enterprise-grade reliability and performance for demanding server environments. This robust RAID controller is designed to optimize data throughput, minimize latency, and simplify management across Dell PowerEdge servers. With advanced caching, a resilient architecture, and streamlined integration with Dell’s storage ecosystem, the PERC H745 helps you achieve higher IOPS, consistent performance under load, and greater overall efficiency. Whether you’re virtualizing, running databases, or supporting I/O-intensive workloads, the H745 provides a solid foundation that scales with your data center needs.

From boot-time initialization to ongoing operations, this controller is built for reliability and ease of administration. It supports a broad range of SAS and SATA drives, enabling flexible configurations that balance performance, capacity, and cost. In addition to raw throughput, the PERC H745 is optimized for Dell OpenManage and lifecycle tooling, giving IT teams a familiar, centralized way to deploy, monitor, and maintain storage infrastructure. The result is reduced downtime, faster deployment cycles, and clearer visibility into disk health and controller status across your fleet of servers.

  • Enhanced performance with 4 GB cache and dual-channel architecture - The PERC H745 includes a generous 4 GB of onboard cache to accelerate read and write operations, helping to turn scattered I/O into smooth, low-latency performance. Its dual-channel design maximizes data throughput between the controller and attached drives, delivering higher sustained IOPS and improved application responsiveness for virtual machines, databases, and streaming workloads.
  • Flexible RAID options for data protection - Designed to protect data while delivering strong performance, the PERC H745 supports a comprehensive set of RAID levels (0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60). This flexibility enables you to tailor storage configurations to your workload—prioritize speed with striped arrays, or maximize fault tolerance with mirrored or parity-based arrays. You can optimize for capacity, resilience, or a balanced compromise that fits your environment’s risk profile and performance goals.
  • Optimized for Dell PowerEdge servers and scalable storage - The H745 is engineered to integrate seamlessly with Dell’s PowerEdge family, providing straightforward deployment, predictable behavior, and consistent management. It supports a wide range of SAS and SATA drives, enabling you to configure backplanes and expand storage capacity as your needs grow without sacrificing performance. This controller aligns with Dell’s hardware and software ecosystem for cohesive, scalable infrastructure.
  • Centralized management with Dell OpenManage - Management is simplified through Dell OpenManage and lifecycle tooling. You can monitor health, configure arrays, update firmware, and perform diagnostics from a single interface. This centralized approach reduces administrative overhead, enhances visibility into drive health and caching efficiency, and accelerates routine maintenance across multiple servers or clusters.
  • Reliability and data integrity features - Enterprise-grade reliability is at the core of the PERC H745. It includes robust error detection and recovery mechanisms, support for cache protection through battery-backed or non-volatile cache configurations, and safeguards to minimize data loss during power events. These features help maintain data integrity, reduce unplanned downtime, and ensure service continuity for mission-critical workloads.

How to install Dell EMC PERC H745 Controller Adapter

  • Power down the server and unplug from power. Remove the chassis cover according to the server’s service guide to access the internal components.
  • Identify a suitable PCIe slot with sufficient clearance and insert the PERC H745 controller card into the slot. Secure the card with the retention mechanism to ensure solid grounding and stability.
  • Connect the SAS/SATA drive backplane cables to the PERC H745 following the server’s wiring guidelines. Verify that cables are routed away from fans, power supplies, and other components to avoid interference or overheating.
  • Power on the server and enter the BIOS or Dell OpenManage initialization screen. The controller should be detected automatically; if needed, load the initial firmware or run a basic configuration to recognize connected drives.
  • Update the controller firmware to the latest version using Dell OpenManage or Lifecycle Controller. Create or import your preferred RAID configurations, assign hot spares if required, and verify that the arrays are healthy before proceeding with the operating system installation.
  • Proceed with operating system installation or boot from an existing OS. Install any required storage drivers and management software to enable ongoing monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning for the PERC H745.

A real review.

When I saw the Unbreakable Teddy Extreme Bear 2.0, I thought, Finally! A toy that might survive my 9-month-old Rottweiler puppy, Pepper. She’s an aggressive chewer with a love for stuffies—she adores them, right up until she disembowels them and feasts on their cotton insides like a tiny, unhinged zombie. The toy’s name, "Unbreakabear," sounded promising. Durable? Stuffie-like? For large breeds? Sign me up! Fifteen minutes later, it looked like a crime scene from a horror movie. The Good: Pepper was IN LOVE with this toy... for about 10 minutes. The double pack is nice in theory—you know, so you have a backup when the first one inevitably doesn’t live up to its "unbreakable" promise. The Bad: False Advertising: This toy is marketed as "extremely durable for aggressive chewers." But let me tell you: Pepper’s chewing isn’t aggressive—it’s surgical. She shredded the bear’s ears, ripped off the tail, and then went straight for the brain like she was auditioning for Zombie Dogs Gone Wild. It didn’t even put up a fight. Durability (or Lack Thereof): Calling this toy "extreme" is like calling a paper towel roll a chew toy. One good shake, and the seams basically exploded in surrender. Safety Concerns: Once Pepper exposed the stuffing (and the metaphorical "brains"), it was a race to see if I could stop her from swallowing it. Stuffing everywhere. The floor looked like someone had murdered a carnival bear. The Ugly: Walking into the room after Pepper was done was like stumbling upon the aftermath of a teddy bear massacre. The "Unbreakabear" lay limp on the floor, its ears and tail missing, stuffing spewed around like it was the victim of a bear-sized horror flick. Pepper, triumphant, sat there with bits of fluff clinging to her mouth, looking like a deranged extra from The Walking Dead. Final Thoughts: If your dog is a light chewer who likes to gently cuddle their toys, this might be fine. But if your dog sees toys as a challenge, run. Stick to hard rubber toys, Kongs, or something without a vulnerable, squishy middle. As for the warranty? Sure, I could try to get a replacement, but what’s the point? Pepper will just go full zombie surgeon again. Would I recommend this toy? Only if you’re filming a sequel to Teddy Bear Massacre. For aggressive chewers, this is nothing but fluff and disappointment. Pepper’s Review: 5/5 stars for taste. 0/5 stars for durability.

Toy does not live up to its name
Color: 1PC
This product is not sturdy enough for an aggressive chewer as it is advertised. It took my 7-year-old "Rottie" approximately 15-20 minutes to have this "unbreakable, in destructive aggressive chewer" toy rip open and stuffing everywhere. A complete waste of money and I would not recommend this toy to anyone with an aggressive chewer.
