If the institution has gained an international reputation in the field of education over the past two decades, it is not only because of it's motivational projects but also as a result of the exclusive study programme, Kronberg Academy Masters. What Kronberg today offers young violinists, violists and cellists was once reserved for cellists only. The first Cello Festival in 1993 was how it all began. Cello masterclasses and competitions paved the way for Kronberg Academy's development as an educational institution and young cellists were the first Kronberg Academy Masters graduates. Inspired by Gidon Kremer and musically developed and directed by conductor/ cellist Heinrich Schiff, the album's programme is once again devoted entirely to the cello and it's sonorous, melodious sound - brought to life by four young cellists from Spain, Germany, Russia and France, who have all studied at Kronberg Academy or are all currently studying there.

Entertaining, informative, without being overwhelming.

Got it for, basically, half-off standard retail. At that price, it's a fine addition to the WWII library. Some interesting information displayed in a mostly entertaining way. I get that battle maps are always a challenge (maps are static - battles are dynamic). This does a fairly adequate job - better than most battle maps - though far from groundbreaking. item arrived well packed - no issues with binding (as some others seem to report). Though the book overall is a bit "warped" and several of the maps are mis-printed or mis-cut as to make them unusable. 3 bad out of 300 - not horrible - again at the price I paid. If the subject interest you - I'd suggest getting - but not a "must have".

For the history buff or student - this is worth the purchase
Format: Hardcover
Detailed, individual maps and history on the battles of World War II. It isn’t too overwhelming for the student and is an enjoyable read for the history buff. Hardback so it will ensure lots of reading and reviews, durable pages too (not those thin, flimsy, easily tearable pages!) - this book will likely stand the test of our schooling years and beyond.
