The Tyan Tempest S5370 is a purpose-built, server-grade motherboard designed to deliver scalable performance and reliable operation in demanding data-center environments. Built around the Intel 5000V chipset and configured for dual Intel Xeon processors from the 5000/5100 family (Dempsey / Woodcrest), this board is optimized for virtualization, database workloads, HPC applications, and mission-critical services. With support for up to four fully buffered DIMM (FB-DIMM) modules and dual Gigabit Ethernet, the Tempest S5370 combines robust memory bandwidth, dependable networking, and flexible expansion in a compact yet capable platform. Whether you’re deploying a high-density virtualization cluster, a database node, or a cloud-ready server, the Tempest S5370 is engineered to deliver the reliability, scalability, and efficiency that modern enterprises demand. Its thoughtful layout provides straightforward maintenance, efficient cooling paths, and clear upgrade routes, helping you maximize uptime and return on investment. This motherboard stands as a compelling choice for system integrators and IT teams seeking a compact, enterprise-grade foundation for dual-processor workloads that demand stability, performance, and long-term support.

  • Dual-processor performance: The Tempest S5370 supports two Intel Xeon processors from the 5000/5100 series, including the Dempsey and Woodcrest generations, enabling substantial parallel processing power and memory bandwidth. This dual-processor design is ideal for virtualization hosts, multi-threaded databases, and compute-intensive workloads where scale and consistency matter. By leveraging the 5000V chipset, the board delivers robust inter-processor communication, efficient data pathways, and solid multiprocessing headroom, ensuring workloads can grow without sacrificing responsiveness or stability.
  • Memory capacity and reliability: With support for up to four FB-DIMM modules, the Tempest S5370 provides a flexible, scalable memory platform designed for server-grade reliability. FB-DIMM technology offers ECC capabilities to protect against memory errors, which is critical for uptime in data-center deployments. The combination of FB-DIMM and ECC memory helps reduce the risk of silent data corruption in mission-critical applications, while ample headroom enables larger in-memory datasets, faster caching, and improved overall performance for virtualization, databases, and enterprise apps.
  • Networking and input/output flexibility: The motherboard ships with dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, delivering redundant, high-availability network connectivity out of the box. This networking setup is well-suited for virtualization hosts, clustered services, and storage gateways, providing reliable throughput and straightforward network segmentation. In addition to onboard ports, the Tempest S5370 offers expansion options to accommodate additional network adapters or storage controllers, enabling administrators to tailor I/O capacity to workload demands without sacrificing form factor or manageability.
  • Expansion options for growth: The Tempest S5370 includes multiple expansion slots to accommodate PCI and PCIe adapters, RAID controllers, Fibre Channel adapters, and other accelerators. This flexibility makes it easy to scale storage performance, improve resilience with RAID solutions, or add accelerators for workloads like data analytics and virtualization. The board’s layout emphasizes efficient bandwidth distribution to ensure that added cards work in harmony with the dual-processor configuration, memory subsystem, and onboard networking, helping you maximize performance without compromising stability.
  • Designed for reliability and virtualization-ready deployments: Engineered for enterprise use, the Tempest S5370 emphasizes stability, long-term support, and straightforward management. The dual-processor setup, ECC memory support, and robust expansion options create a platform capable of hosting virtualization platforms, databases, and high-availability services with consistent performance. IT teams benefit from a solid foundation that supports live migrations, scalable resource allocation, and predictable maintenance cycles, making it an attractive choice for private clouds, data-center consolidation, and mission-critical workloads.

how to install Tyan Tempest (S5370)

Installing the Tyan Tempest S5370 begins with preparing a suitable server chassis and confirming compatibility with dual 5000/5100-series Xeon processors. Start by verifying you have two compatible CPUs, the appropriate CPU coolers, and a compatible power supply with adequate wattage for a dual-processor configuration. Step one is to install the processors into the Socket J LGA-771 sockets on the motherboard. Ensure you follow the processor installation guidelines, align pins carefully, and secure the heatsinks firmly to provide efficient cooling and thermal stability. After the CPUs are seated, install memory modules into the FB-DIMM slots, making sure to match each module to the correct channel configuration for optimal bandwidth and reliability. Once memory is in place, install the motherboard into the chassis using the mounting standoffs and secure the panel or I/O shield in place. Connect the 24-pin ATX power connector and the 8-pin (or 4-pin) CPU power connectors, then attach any additional power rails required by dual-CPU configurations. Install expansion cards such as RAID controllers or network adapters into the PCI/PCIe slots, and connect their power and data cables as needed. Finally, boot the system, enter the BIOS/UEFI, configure memory timings and processor options, and initialize any RAID or storage controllers. Install your chosen operating system, apply drivers, and perform post-install checks to ensure all hardware is recognized and functioning properly. For virtualization or high-availability deployments, configure the appropriate hypervisor settings, network bonding, and storage back-end as part of the standard setup process. Always maintain up-to-date firmware and drivers to maximize stability and performance in production environments.

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.

Slightly repetitive but I did love some things
Format: Kindle
I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.
