The promise of Jesus' return in glory is one of the most anticipated and awe-inspiring events in Christian theology. It's a moment that has been eagerly awaited for centuries, a culmination of hope and faith. This glorious return, as described in the Bible, will be a spectacle of unimaginable beauty and power.
When Jesus returns, the heavens will open, and He will descend upon the clouds. The trumpet will sound, and the dead will rise. The earth will tremble, and the sea will roar. It will be a moment of cosmic significance, a display of God's majesty and sovereignty. The beauty of this event lies not only in its grandeur but also in the hope it represents.
I contemplated for quite a while about how I could represent Christ's return.
And I kept returning to the idea of becoming renewed. So I decided to show Jesus in an environment of pure white to signify the purity and the cleansing effect of his return. And I wanted to show him in the clouds, in the sky, as described in the scriptures.
Matthew 24:30: "Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky...and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with great power and glory." The beauty of Jesus' return lies in the transformation it will bring, not only to the world but also to the hearts and lives of those who have faith.
